Trying, Trying, Trying,,,,,, help! :(

Hi Everyone!
I am giving this little shop of mine my best shot.. my views seem to be soooo low. I really love this, and do not want to shut down in discouragement. I guess I'm being pathetic and looking for a pick me up!! Thinking of adding additional art to my shop, such as adult clothing and painted canvas, and other things I do... But I do not want to get away from what I love and what I started here.... Thank you so much for any advice on how I can improve my shop. My pics stink, I know!!! should I revamp? And yes, I have to get rid of "onesie" wording... I'm working on it...

Your items are SUPER cute! And your shop is great. It looks like you have keywords going well and your photos seem fine.

But here's the thing: I'm in your shop and click on an adorable onesie, OK? I'm really getting excited, it's so cute I want to buy it for my niece's baby, for instance - hand painted, it's so unique. Then, all of a sudden, I get to the part where it talks about hazards - a whole list of things that could be bad for a baby. Yikes! You've just totally scared me away. And what in the world does "Industrial use" have to do with a sweet little baby?

I realize you have all thatlisted to show that your products are safe, but it does not come across that way - it's just too, too much information. Could you do away with that entire list and just say, "Baby safe and non-toxic"? Or a sentence that sums up that list with positive wording? Perhaps that will help. Wishing you lots of luck - your items are really nice.

I agree with zehland, the listing of hazards doesn't add to the listing. It's kind of creepy, even. You could say that you've researched the paints used to ensure that they're harmless and safe for babies since I'm pretty sure that's what the list was supposed to communicate. The way the hazards are formatted makes it difficult to really know exactly what it means. It's not clear that the paints are safe.

I agree with the zehland too. But my first thought when I saw your store was that the picture of your onesies on cute babies are so inviting and really stand out from the rest ! What about having cute babies model all of your items?

One thing of note is your shop location: Murrieta, is where... what state? Where exactly is my adorable onsie being shipped from? The more info about where you are located the better, so a buyer has a better idea of how long their item will take to get there. For example: my shop location has listed: Castro Valley CA, Northern California, Bay Area, United States.

We think your products are really cute. It's the photos that need work.

One of the best bits of advice we ever got was "you are not selling your products on the internet; you are selling photos of your products."

We had never thought of it that way, but it is so true.

Try using a lightbox and a tripod. Avoid using fabric as a background. The background should be light and it should be the same in all your photos, to keep a professional, cohesive look to your shop.

I personally don't like to see a black background for a toy or baby product. I know it shows off a white item, but it doesn't look right somehow to really be sending a baby product message. It seems too harsh, not soft like I want a baby product to be. Efinegifts is right about selling the photos of your products. The photos have to feel right for a product or I don't buy the product.

The photos of the items on your baby really make the product stand out and give a good feel for size and fit. I know it isn't possible to get a baby to always cooperate with you when you are trying to photograph them. Trust me I know. I have two boys 22 months apart.
