Treasury-Making Teams

Hello all!

I just wanted to get everyone's take on Treasury-Making Teams - the pros and cons. If you joined one, has it helped your sales? Is it too time-consuming without enough payoff?

I've been thinking about joining one, but I didn't know if I wanted to take on a 16 a month treasury commitment. Are there any teams that has a smaller requirement?

Thanks!
~amy

I'm on 123treasury Team and I love it! If you list a treasury all you have to do is promote the 7 treasuries ahead of yours.

Good luck.

I'm a leader on the Etsians Who Pinterest team and we're starting a treasury requirement of one treasury a month. But you do have to have a Pinterest account and we encourage you to be a very active team member.

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

I'm in one called Treasury Promotion team and like the one collettakay mentioned, you comment on the 10 previous treasuries when you post a treasury! I had a treasury that was on the first page of treasuries all day yesterday because of the team so it does help!

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

Hi everyone,

Treasury Friends Team is one of the largest juried and most flexible treasury teams.

We have no treasury, comment, or click requirements, simply the more treasuries you create the more exposure you will receive for your shop. TFTeam is a great option for both high quality "emerging" sellers, as well as established sellers that are very busy and cannot make treasury # commitments. It is also a great way to help build supportive seller friendships on Etsy.

You can learn more about the TFTeam and apply here:

In general, treasury teams are a great way to get free advertising and exposure for your shop, which can lead to more sales.

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

Thank you all very much for your informative replies! I'm going to check out the Treasury Teams you mentioned - they sound like exactly what I'm looking for!

@eclectic & jeannie ~ here is a link to Pinterest....it's a way to catalog all the things you love, like a virtual board you "pin" your favorite items to. I'm not a member, but hear great things about it. I'll let someone more experienced with Pinterest explain the benefits of using it :)

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

Hi Amy,

I just joined a team yesterday and it's a new one just starting up. Not many rules or requirements. The basis of the team is to feature at least 8 team members in any treasury that you post and to comment & fav on the one above your posting. I had a not-so-great experience with a treasury team awhile back and was looking for one that helps support other shops through treasuries. This team supports my goals for treasuries and that's not only to promote my shop, but other's as well. I like being able to pick and choose which treasuries I comment on and don't really like being required to comment on so many treasuries. It's really hard to get support for your treasuries unless you belong to a team and like I said this one really suits my hopes for treasury making. If you would like the link and check it out for yourself, just convo me and I'll be happy to pass it along. Thanks and good luck with your treasuries.

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

there are treasury making teams and treasury promotion teams, each are different and have their own pros and cons.
The main question to ask yourself is are you ok with making several treasuries with specific requirements or do you just want to make them as you go but get some more promotion for them.

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

Hi Amy-
I am on a team that doesn't completely focus on treasuries, but it is encouraged. There are no minimum requirements. I just joined about a week ago, and I was already included in a blog which lead to a sale. Which is pretty exciting for me :). So my opinion is that it's been a good thing and I've definitely gotten more exposure. I believe the link should be under my profile if you're interested.

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

Maybe I am the only one here with this opinion, but here it goes! I was on the team where you would post yours and then comment on the prior 10. It sure seemed like there were a bunch of folks who would just write "nice" as a comment! I don't believe they were even looking at the treasury. Once I asked if this were the case and got reported for not commenting on the prior 10 every time. I would get on and comment even w/o posting a collection. I chose not to stay on the team because I wanted "real" comments. However if your goal is to get LOTS of comments, then that is the way to do it! I love making treasuries! Sara

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

Sherry - you beat me to it! I'm on several treasury teams... some of them with requirements, some without. It usually doesn't take me but maybe an hour a day to work with them though. And it's totally worth it. I was in 7 treasuries today!

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

I'm on the nonteamchallenge team. It's a bit like a contest every week. Every Thursday an item is posted from whoever won the previous week and then about 250+ treasuries get made with that item, so you get lots of exposure and possibly fp. You don't have to participate every week, only when you want. If you participate you get put on a list and throughout the week you may be featured in a nonteamblitz. It's great fun. It is completely up to the shop/person who chooses the winner, ie. you don't have to make fp. They just choose the one they like the best. Here is the link to the team blog: http://treasurychallengenonteam.blogspot.com/ for more details and here is the link to the team: http://www.etsy.com/teams/7395/treasury-challenge-nonteam Good luck on choosing a team to join or in this case a nonteam!

Re: Treasury-Making Teams

Hi Sara,

The team I was referring to in my earlier post was alot like what you've described and it just wasn't for me at all. I just didn't like the idea of people being required to comment on your treasury and really feel that you either want to comment on one or you don't. If you really like a T chances are you're going to check out the shops featured and maybe even, the curators, too. I think you really have to look around and see what's available in teams and see which is a better fit for your goals.

EscargotArtsyBits:
We were thinking of the same thing after we posted our comment.
We want real comments and real treasuries.

At the same time we want to be able to promote others and ourselves.
There's no perfect solution, but what direction and level do we want our creations to be known for? Okay... think we are getting too complex for now.

Sigh.

@EscargotArtsyBits:

I once made a treasury as a tribute to a friend of mine, who struggled with bipolar disorder and ended up taking her own life. It was interesting seeing the 'nice' and 'cool' comments roll in when I posted it on one of the "Comment on the X treasuries above you" teams...

I didn't take them personally, and I got a lot of wonderful support as well - but it did become -very- obvious that some people are just copy-pasting 'cool' to get it over with.
