Tips for Getting Featured on Etsy

Hi everyone!
One question I often hear from sellers on our Etsy Success social media channels and elsewhere is, "How can I get featured?”

Though the selection process differs by channel (whether you're hoping to be featured in an Etsy Finds email, the Seller Handbook, one of Etsy's social media channels, or elsewhere), there are common qualities that Etsy editors and merchandisers look for when choosing products and shops to highlight. I totally agree, getting featured on ETSY is a great opportunity to gain exposure and sales. There are so many shops on at this platform, which makes it very hard to get found by customers.

It has been said a lot of times already, amazing photography, high-quality items and a friendly and open shop appearance definitely help to be discovered and if you are lucky enough, to get featured. ...I wish some day I will be the lucky one! ;)

I have a question and not sure if this is the place to ask, but if it is not, you can delete it.

I have been selling wreaths for the past 4 years and when doing a search for "Fall Wreaths" or "Halloween Wreaths" I have always been on either the first or second page of the searches.

But now, I am lucky if I am on the 5th page. I do advertise and am paying up to 40 cents per click and still even with doing that, I am lucky if I get ranked high.

I don't understand why this is happening. How can it change so quickly? Some of my listings are the same listings from last year, so they have had many likes, etc.

What am I doing wrong? Does Etsy decide when our items are found in search? And if so, how is that decided?

Please explain why it is best to avoid using watermark in the photos?

I just open an etsy shop, and I am still trying to figure out and learn how to work in this platform and used a watermark after noticing that so many shop have them.
