Thinking of going in a new direction

I've made a few sales but I'm still trying to find my niche.. I'm considering still going with jewelry/accessories but going in an entirely new direction to see how it words out.. I figured since its early it may still be doable.

Thoughts?

I would go for it, too! I guess the only way to see if certain product line works for your shop is to do some experiment with it :)

Jewelry is such a highly saturated market, it's tough to do well unless you have a niche. I've tweaked my products a couple of times. I'm finding as much as I enjoy making beaded bracelets, the viking knit is really my niche - it's what sells most but equally as importantly, it is a more rare product.

Wow Donna! I'vedone viking knit as well and really enjoy it. I"ve been lazy and haven't gotten any finished pieces for the shop yet (well there is one, but I decided I didn't like it! lol) so I just have a bunch of pre-made knit lying around. Your stuff is really beautiful!

Thank you all for the encouragement. I guess I'm just scared I'm going to scare away people who like my shop now if I start doing new things. But we'll see how it goes! I feel a little better about it now.

I didn't find my niche until a supply store accidentally sent me an order of stud earrings blanks that were almost twice the size I needed. The shop wanted to split the cost and send me the correct ones without having me return the other batch and I obliged. Since I was stuck with the bigger (seemingly useless) earrings, I decided to make a few designs for them just for the heck of it. I'm so thankful that happened! That was the first step in my big ol fancy plan of "finding my niche" haha. When inspiration strikes, trust it and use it to your advantage. It could be the beginning of something wonderful :)
