Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

Morning,

I was thinking about adding "everywhere else" to my shipping location but I would like to get some feedback on how much an average 2 oz package would cost to random places.

TIA

Re: Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

Looks like for anything 2 ounces to 3 ounces the most expensive price is $8.88.
(Canada = $6.91)

If it is 1 ounce to under 2 ounces the most expensive price is $6.16
(Canada = $6.16)

..not including insurance. If you are insuring.

Re: Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

I added "everywhere else" and this is how I priced it:

1. I made a list of a bunch of international places (I actually just chose a random city from each continent)

2. I used the "rate finder" on Canada Post (you, of course, would probably use USPS)

3. I took the highest price, and went with that. That way, you absolutely know for sure that you're covered no matter where the order is from.

I always think my "everywhere else" shipping rate seems really high, but I've had orders from Slovenia, Hong Kong, and Australia that I wouldn't have had otherwise.

Re: Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

Doesn't your postal service have 'everywhere else' as an option? In Spain, rates go: local, provincial, national, international - and within international you have "European Union" and "rest of countries." So it costs the same to mail something to the United States as it does to Australia, Asia, Africa, etc. Adding insurance is an extra 2€ flat rate regardless of destination and weight.

Re: Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

I would think it's always better to consult your postal office's official website for precise information :)

Lix - it's different for different post services. Some divide all countries in zones, which get the same price.

Re: Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

Mel, I figured. Plus, technically European Union countries are "zone 1" and every other country is "zone 2" for my postal service. But that's what I was suggesting - that the OP's postal service might divide their rates by zone and they could use that as a guideline.

Re: Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

Postal explorer is what you want to browse though on the USPS site.

Or you can borrow my prices if you want, my fabric quarters are about 2oz. I sometimes have to send refunds if someone orders a higher quantity of them (the "with another item" is tough to get right, it's not a straight line!) but haven't lost out yet.

Re: Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

Hi sherry:)

I shipped to canada yesterday under 3 ounces for $6.55.
Last week I shipped to France I believe it was 2 ounces for $6.50.

I put $6.55 for everywhere else on my shipping profile. I will adjust it up higher if it becomes necessary, but so far the $6.55 that I'm charging has covered the cost. I don't get insurance unless the items are over $25.00, but shipsurance will insure for $1.50 for cheaper items.

Re: Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

For my everywhere else profile, I put $7.50 with $2.50 per additional item (because the price jumps up quite a bit when you go over 3 oz). The price includes actual postage and packaging. I have a separate shipping profile for Canada because the additional item fee is less.

Re: Thinking about adding "everywhere else"

in austria postal fees go rather by size than by weight. into a maxi envelope (size ~ 20x30cm) you can put up to 2kg into (that´s what the guy at the post office said) i laughed when he told me and said i have no intention of shipping a bar of gold :-)
i think the prices are ok and affordable and for most i can put my items in small envelopes and ship them
