Text enhance??? WTF?? *pardon my French*

OK....weeeeeird things happening.
had to restart my computer, went back to Etsy and see that some words (random ones it seems) are marked blue like a hyperlink and some strange ads pop up when you scroll over it...
Is this just me and my computer just decided to become a spam machine? or is this a new Etsy thing? .....

I don't want my items to become annoying and spammy and.....gosh...that's such a turn-off, makes my items and descriptions very unattractive!

the word parents is blue and underlined and a scammy pop-up about winning an Ipad2 comes up..

OK so it is labeled with "text enhance" and if I click on the questionmark a new tab opens saying:

"Text-Enhance links are designed to create meaningful relationships between advertisers and consumers.

If you are seeing these links, then a web publisher has decided to offer them to you. If you would like to opt-out of seeing these links, click here."

How can they do that just like that?? and can you guys see it too if you look on my listing???

Yup, that happened to us too. It's not Etsy, it's malware. It sucks too, made our already slow computer even slower.

I use a Mac and they aren't prone to those virus things and your listings look fine to me. I believe it's a bug/malware on your computer.

It may also just be the browser you are using. Tried out a new browser a couple weeks ago and it added links to many images. No good.

ha! I was just about to say, I got a virus a few weeks back. Dumped the desktop and got a Mac the next day - That scared me so bad! Terrible viruses out there, and with accounts being online, all it takes is a key-tracking spyware to get all your info. Anyway, I would change all your passwords when you're done, too!

On my end the listing comes up ok too, I don't get a spam message or anything, I don't think others will, so I think it is just on your end. That's too bad. :(

I don't have a Mac but I have very efficient firewalls and virus protection. I never use Internet Explorer for one thing, Firefox is much less susceptible to this kind of things. In addition I have the Adblock add-on, which block all advertising and malware. And my computer is protected with Avira and Spybot in real time and I run SuperAntiSpyware from time to time.
Plus i NEVER click on any link that I receive by email...
