I'm taking a poll -

Do you like to be notified if you've been featured in a treasury list?

When I create a treasury I like to notify all those featured as I like to be notified when I am featured in order to say thank you and comment on it. It's difficult when you are a part of so many circles and are busy creating to check the activity feed, in my opinion. And I really do like to know when I've been featured. It's encouraging to know what people are responding to. In addition, I always write something like "treasury" in the subject line, when sending a treasury notification, so sellers know whether it's from a customer or not.

Yes I like to be notified when I am featured in a treasury. I don't want to miss viewing and hearting it. I also like to say thank you to the curator and comment on her or his treasury. I always send a message to shop owners when I feature one of their items in my treasury. I have done that ever since the first time one of my items was featured. The curator sent me a message to let me know. I have always followed her lead.

I just sent a notification to a seller whose item I added to an older treasury of mine, she answered thank you and said she's gonna buy one of the other items in that treasury! Sometimes they actually have a real function :)

I didn't really mind getting notified, but that was when I wasn't so busy with sales. I love what treasury makers do, but as many have said - the activity feed tells me.

It's become quite a bug bear for me as I produce custom orders and so I frequently get convo's with requests, design ideas and general enquiries. It's getting more and more difficult to keep them organised and I always worry that some customer is going to get lost amongst the treasury e-mails. Although I can assign folders for different subject matter - it's so time consuming when you get a barrage of convo's a day!

I definitely appreciate why many people inform sellers of their treasuries this way - but personally? Right now, i'd rather check in my own time without it invading my day to day workings and enquiries.

I really don't like it because I make custom items and have a lot of convos with my buyers. Getting the email notification gets in the way of my work and I find it easy enough to stay on top of treasuries by using the sort feature in my activity feed.
The ONLY time I like it is when I'm on vacation. But that's not often enough anyway ;)

I like it! I always sent a notifying message when I make a treasury and I would like to recieve such a massage when I'm on a treasury, this way I surely won't miss it. But I see that a lot of people here don't like those massages. In the message I only include the link to the treasury, nothing else that can be considered as advertising.

I like it, but its not so often, yet. Probably it becomes annoying if its every day three times.

Not only do I like and appreciate the e-mail notification, but it makes it easy for me to keep track of who has treasuried my items because your Activity Feed history is only temporary. I am a BIG believer in reciprocity and will try to include them in my future treasuries.

I know how much work goes into making a treasury and if you are doing something to promote MY shop, I am going to do the same for YOU whether it is an inclusion in one of my treasuries or a pin on my Pinterest board, etc.

I guess I can always come back to this thread and make sure I don't "bother" anyone who is included in "so MANY treasuries" that they find the notifications annoying. Really? Jeez...

I so appreciate getting a message when one of my items is featured in a Treasury. If someone took the time to make a treasury and feature one of my items, I don't want to miss it! I always favorite, comment, tweet, FB, etc the treasuries I'm in to help promote my shop, the other featured sellers as well as the curator.

Treasuries are a way for us sellers to get to know each other and help each other…and I wouldn't want to miss one accidentally since activity feeds only go back so far.

With this said if you are pro-message sending, I highly recommend Shmetsy. It's a very helpful tool when making treasuries and sending condos to all of the featured sellers.

Not that I've been featured in a treasury yet, but I think I would notice in my activity feed. I've made a few treasuries now and not messaged people about it. Those that have been in my treasuries have always commented on the treasury and said thanks :-)

after reading the pro-notification comments, i've changed my mind from no to yes, thank you! it's true, it's easy to miss one in the activity feed and i would really hate that to happen.
so thank you to those who wrote to express why they like the notification, appreciate you opening my eyes.

I think the notification is nice as the people who make the treasury do go to some time and effort to do so and it is nice to at least have the featured shops make a comment there.

The activity feed in my other shop doesn't work terrifically well, so I really like to be notified. I like to reciprocate by clicking and commenting and I don't want to have to go through all my items to see if they've been added to a treasury and I didn't realize.

I don't require it, but I do prefer it. Things go missing in the activity feed.

You put one of my items in a treasury? You took the time to notify me? You've added some social network tips just in case I don't know how to utilise the opportunity or in case I'm new?

As I can't understand how this could be construed as obnoxious I'll say thanks! I'm not new either.

p.s. If I put you in a treasury and you respond with thanks that's fine too. Give me coupon codes and I'll let you know it's not good form.

I like it to be notified. My activity feed is too busy and I don't make it to watch it every day.
Is is a super extra promotion ( I get a lot of views through treasuries) and I find it normal to click, comment and share this on FB, my blog and Pinterest as long as it is not too many. But I think I owe those, who do the effort to promote and notify me, at least this little appreciation back and a thank you.

I really appreciate getting a Convo if I am featured. I have missed a few since my activity feed is very unreliable.

I like getting notified, but I can also see it when I search under my shop and treasuries if I don't see it in my activity feed.

I've been selling for over a year and still love getting the emails. I'm flattered that someone likes my work and includes it in a treasury. As well as taking the time to let me know. My activity feed is huge. While it is fun to look through it, I usually only do that once every day or two. A special email is just that, special. I could get 50 emails a day letting me know that someone has featured my work and I would enjoy reading every one of them.

What I don't like? Is when they include their blog, or FB, ask me to return the favor, or say they hope I visit their store and shop. I don't feel they are being genuine in making a treasury; just a different avenue to advertise their shop.

As much as I appreciate being included in a treasury, I will be honest and say that I am always a little disappointed when I see that I have a convo and then find out it's not a sale or inquiry. :-/

I love to be notified of being in a treasury with this shop (my second shop) but it does get a little annoying with my first shop because I'm always in treasuries. I get notifications daily and those emails really add up and I don't really have time to comment and click on all of them.

Kim, I am the same way. Disappointed it's not a sale especially with my jewelry shop. Trying so hard to get noticed. Just have to be patient.
