Stumbleupon help?

Hello!

I'm trying new things to bring people to my shop (and to other people's shops, and generally spread the word that there is a whole site full of treats for people who may not yet be etsy shoppers) and I've signed up for stumbleupon. But oh my gosh, I'm feeling so thick, I can't work out how on earth to use it to promote. Can anyone give this newb some tips and, also, for those on it, how effective do you find it?

I've not had a sale yet this year and after a mega busy Christmas I'm bored, need to get more action in my shop, haha!

It took me a little while & I'm still not entirely sure I've cracked it! The best bet is to install the Stumbleupon toolbar. I use it with Google Chrome & you just click the button on the top right-hand corner of the screen when you want to share something.

i find stumbleupon brings a ton of views but not necessarily productive views (as in bringing in new customers) but it is excited to see 1000+ views out of nowhere!

if you don't install the toolbar you can just find your Favorites section and manually add a link - you tag it and then submit.

i've found that the more you 'stumble' other pages the more the site will give you traffic. if you just post things and never peruse the site it will not drive traffic to your posts! basically, for every one page you add to stumble upon - spend 10min or so hitting the stumble button and favoriting pages you like to boost up your profile! i always like looking up cute animal pictures! it gets addicting!

You're really not supposed to use StumbleUpon to promote your sutff. They will shut down your acct. if they find out.

But I can use it for other etsy shops right? I just wasn't sure how to do it!

I saw that you can't ues it for yourself, but it seems like a good idea to get friends to do it!! Perhaps my husband's account magically needs to add my site... :-)
