New Shop Critique

Hello everyone! I was just wondering if anyone would mind giving my new shop a critique. I think my biggest issue are my photos. I need to improve on those. I am open too all advice!

Re: New Shop Critique

I would agree, photos! I would get a white background. I always have to fix mine, too... :/
A never-ending task!

I agree with Polly Anne regarding the white background. I like the one where you've shown a hat on a model but how about having her smiling and looking happy wearing the hat? It seems to work for big brands! :) Maybe you could shoot her outdoors wearing it all wrapped up warm.

Re: New Shop Critique

I think your shop looks great. For the photos, what I do and seems to work - is opening the blinds all the way of one of the windows, setting up a table, a small desk lamp, and a chair to either sit or kneel on to take photos from a height. If you can do it in front of a window, with a white background (I used a large drawing pad from my background) my photos come out great. Natural light really is the best. :D

Phototaking takes a lot of practice, so keep on trying and good luck!! :D

Re: New Shop Critique

I personally really like the thumbnail photos for the bows and crochet pin - if you could more like that, those would be great. :D

Re: New Shop Critique

I was looking at this item when I came up with the following advice

http://www.etsy.com/listing/89591073/large-crochet-pin

First of all, cute pin. You definitely need some more items in your shop. Titles and tags are really REALLY important. I might call this Crochet Flower Pin Brooch. Always, always use all 13 tags. If you don't know what to put in, use a thesaurus to come up with other words for pin, brooch, etc. I would also add "accessory", "flower pin", "floral accessory", etc.

You say you can attach it to a hat or scarf, why not use one of your photo spots to highlight this. "Show" the customer how it would look.

Keep in mind the first 3 words of your title are the most important, you want to put what your item is first, then color, size, etc. Hope this helps.
