Strong branding - yay or not?

Hi all! :)

I was wondering...

I have had some strong branding throughout my shop. I sell vintage brooches and photograph them all placed on a small card I designed. That mainly is my shop layout. But recently I have been picking the brooch-on-shirt picture as the first picture.

I am not sure if the strong branding scared maybe treasuries or other potential buyers. Would you advice me to keep the branding or pick the brooch-on-shirt picture as the first picture?

thanks for your advice!

I think it looks better on a shirt.

Gives you an idea of how large/small it is, and how it could potentially look. Customers don't like to use their imagination when it comes to shopping. They want to know within the first few seconds if it's something they'd be interested in, if it's their style, etc.

I for one love branding, so i'm a little biased!

However, I like the mixture! I would maybe make it more cohesive for your shop layout though, so one line of photos with the brooch on an item of clothing, and one line of brooches on your cards if that makes sense? Then you're pleasing both markets.

Also, might be worth keeping an eye on which items get the views, if you get more with your branding or not, then you know which direction may be best!

I like both! Your photography looks great and I like the professional look of the brooch on the card and from the perspective of a buyer, I like being able to see how the item looks being worn. I think its a nice mix! :)

I like the brooch-on-shirts photos for treasuries (though more neutral colors might get you featured more often). However, I am more inclined to click on detailed close-up photos than ones taken from a distance... at least with little items like jewelry. Just my 2 cents.

I like the way it's shown here. When I see the one's with your cards I immediately read the card and not look at the product I like this one:

I like the branding but I think having them on the shirt for the first picture would help buyers get an immediate idea of what it would look like in their own wardrobe and possibly draw them in for a closer look.

Re: Strong branding - yay or not?

Thank you so much for you insights. It's a good one to consider a potential buyer seeing a brooch on a shirt so they will now how it will going to look on theirs. More logic then on a card...

Really helpful :)
