"Hi Corina, I hope you don't mind me asking this. I love your designs and actually I want to invite you to get involved in a new online boutique marketplace created especially for customers who want their clothes bespoke/tailor made (it's a huge market). We are just prior to launching and are inviting a few designers we like to join early. We've got a trial offer and lots of things to make an easy opening for you.
Would you like to have a look?"
I replied but she's asking for my email. At first glance it seems like giving her my email isn't risking anything but why not contact me through facebook? And is giving me a link really against etsy rules? Has anyone else gotten this message?
Hmmm....I've received a similar type convo about helping launch and online site for custom designed plush toys (which I usually offer in my shop... I've taken the listings down while I've been quite busy with other things since those custom orders are very time-consuming with convos and such). Anyway, this person said they contacted a few other sellers and are waiting to hear back. I kept responding via covo and they said I'd hear more through e-mail if I provided my address. I didn't do that. I haven't heard anything else. This was 2 months ago. At first it seemed legit, but something just didn't sit right with me later on.... so I don't know. I'd be careful.
I got the same darn convo! Word by word - besoke/tailor made who uses such words? I deleted it after I reported it as it smelled too scammy for my liking.
yes, I've recieved a similiar message in the past via my facebook business page, it seemed fishy, so I did not reply.I wouldn't persue it, ecspecially if they are asking for your address.
