Slack off...make a sale...this could work for me!

Since the summer slump started I've slacked off on everything Etsy - from visiting the forums to keeping my FB page updated. My views are pathetically low (less than 10 a day) but I'm not stressing about it. I haven't been creating anything. I've been in kind of a limbo trying to motivate myself to promote but also wanting to take a break.

I just woke up to a sale. That's #15 since I started listing at the end of Jan. 2012.

Not bad for zero promotion in the past couple of weeks. :)

BTW, the sale came from a new buyer that registered a few days ago.

I have been sitting by my dad's hospital bed since the 8th and have had items expire and no new products listed....but, it never fails - when I get a chance to increase my products to 30 I will have a sale:) Apparently that is my magic number:) No worries here either! Life happens and God is in control!

Angel, all the promoting in the world doesn't seem to make much of a difference. My sales usually come when I sit back and take a breather. :)

@Judy - completely agree! Give in to the ebb & flow of retail and steal some relaxation and get rewarded!

I neglect my shop because I'm out of the country for a week - I come home to 6 sales.

I work my butt off with SEO, promoting, writing a blog post, commenting on other blogs, posting new items, etc and NO sales for a week.

I really just can't get used to this ebb and flow stuff.

I noticed this too....all the sales that have taken place the last few weeks, was when my promotion was low! And I mean really LOW!

Judy, this happens to me too, I was out of town twice this summer and came back to multiple sales! This week I've been listing and re-listing etc. and one sale!

same thing happened to me. I was nearly looking forward to a quiet, no-sales at-all July (as was the case last year) but things have not been bad at all considering its summer!

I find it really quiet. Views are not too bad, but no sales and I have the highest inventory ever! I guess my year started very well and I thought it will never stop.
I am okay though, spending time with my kids and taking it easy. Starting to prepare for Christmas and getting organised.

Congrats on your sale! This happens to me too from time to time. I love when that happens, though it hasn't recently despite me ignoring my store for several months. lol!

My views have lessened, and treasuries after a massive spike last month or so... In recent weeks i've not been feeling too well, and so I've stepped back on listing, promoting, and dealing with SEO changes etc.

But custom orders have been piling in! I can barely keep up! So now I barely have time to sort all the above anyway... madness!

I guess we should all take a rest from time to time and heal ourselves... be treated to some days out!
