Signature?

I make scrapbook mini albums and notebooks but am wondering if I should be signing the back cover or at least putting my shop name on the back? Right now once the wrapping is off there is no indication of who it was made by. What do others do?

Re: Signature?

Hi Shannon, Well I don't make scrapbooks but if I buy something handmade (like a scrapbook) I'd want to have the artists name/ logo on it. It just makes it that little more special. Maybe have a stamp made with your name/logo & use that? Goodluck!
Your scrapbooks are gorgeous BTW :-)

Re: Signature?

Definitely sign it or put your logo on it. What if the person who bought it loves it and then can't remember where they got it from?!

Hand signed always adds an extra touch

Totally sign your work. I do for every piece of jewelry I make...

Re: Signature?

I'd do both. Put a label on, and a signature would be a nice personal touch too.

Re: Signature?

As everyone else said, definitely sign your work....perhaps you can stamp the company info in it and then sign it by hand.

Re: Signature?

Thanks everyone. I've only sold 2 items since opening in Feb. and they were sent unsigned. I've been thinking about it though and will definitely sign them from now on and also get a stamp made with my shop name. Thanks again!

Re: Signature?

Back when I used to sell paper goods offline I ordered a stamp and stickers from Vistaprint.com with my name on it - if you keep your eye out they often have deals on groupon.com and livingsocial.com for Vistaprint, and the site itself has great promos all the time. I just wanted to share because I have been so happy with them every time I've bought from them (now business cards, stickers, and sticky notes for my Etsy shop) and it is always important to keep your branding consistent. I think I liked the stamp idea better because it always was in the back of my mind that someone could take the little sticker off (not sure why they would, but it always bugged me! haha)
I know that when I buy something on Etsy, most times someone asks me where I got such a beautiful creation and if there is a tag or signature, then I get to advertise for the lovely shop I bought it from! Most people tend to lose track after a while, so it's good to remind them with your branding (:
Your books are really lovely, by the way! <3
