Should I....

Bear with me while I present my question.

I ultimately want my shop to be purely photography related products. When I started I was also listing things from older hobbies, like jewelry making and weaving. I have sold three jewelry supply listings and four photography related listings. Since I added a bunch of ACEO and single greeting card listings it seems like people are not looking at the other stuff as much. This is good since I want my shop to eventually be only photography but.... My question is... should I see this as a sign that my shop is becoming a photography shop and stop listing the other stuff? Or should I continue to list the other stuff too?

And I don't want to have two shops. I think I would have a hard time keeping track of two shops on Etsy. If I need to I might try selling the jewelry stuff in larger batches on ebay or something.

Re: Should I....

You opened your shop fairly recently. You could list various things and see how things happen naturally. Eventually, you will stop listing the items that don't get views and sales and stick to what is selling.

Are you doing this as a hobby or a full time job? What are your plans with your shop? If you are very interested in a good brand for your shop, it might better to stick to one type of product or a few types that make sense together so your shop is cohesive and memorable.

Hope I helped a bit :)

Re: Should I....

At the moment it is more of a hobby. I am a pretty serious photographer and it gets expensive so I want to earn some money to help me pay for my hobby. As I continue to grow and improve as a photographer I want my shop to become a bigger thing. Probably even full time once my son is in school.

Re: Should I....

I love your photography! Not that jewelry isn't nice but if the art is your passion I would go with it and let the other things go. It will help build your brand and you can concentrate just on that. I love this picture!

I really like your prints. They are beautiful and eye catching. I like your other items, but your prints stand out the most to me. What items get the most views and faves?

Re: Should I....

I checked my stats for the last 7 days and my photography is doing pretty well. It might be partly because of a treasury challenge, though. It will be interesting to see what happens next week.

I think I agree that I should just take this as the start to focusing on photography. I will leave the other products there for right now but will not renew the listings once they expire and will not list new things unless they are photography related. Thank you for the advice. And a big thank you for the compliments.
