Should I make prints of my artwork? How Do I decide which ones? Help?

It was suggested to me through some Etsians that I should consider selling prints of my art in my shop.

My game plan is so far I am going with iprintfromhome.com since I've seen them being recommended a lot on Etsy for prints.

And I'm thinking I should go with the Chromogenic Photographic Prints in the Metallic because I think the colors would "pop" more with that kind of print. But I'm still thinking that I should switch to the Lustre because that would be a semi-gloss, so I'm not sure?

I also need to decide what size and how many I should order since this is my first time doing this and I don't want to invest too much or too little.

I could really use some advice? Encouragement? Feedback? :D

Thank you!

IMO, it's beneficial for you to sell prints of all your artwork. You don't know what people will like and want to buy. The things I thought would sell is way different then the things that have actually sold.

I found a printer here in my city that will print them out as I need them. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to sell prints. I don't have the capital to invest in a bunch of stock that I don't know when or if it'll sell.

11"x14" is my personal favorite size, but I think 8"x10" is pretty popular as well here on etsy.

I think printing out your art work is a great idea. Different framed images are really popular right now in decorating. You could start with the 8 by 10 and give the option for custom sizing for an additional fee.

Prints would be a terrific addition to your shop - do it! :) I've used iprintfromhome and have been very happy with them as well. I do not have any experience with their chromogenic or metallic prints, but I have ordered lustre - it is like semi-gloss but I'd say that the colors are softer. If you want to convo me directly I could send you photos of two prints, one lustre, one matte for comparison.

I don't think you need to have a big supply on hand at this point - I'd just order a few prints to be sure that you have the finish and quality you want, and to photograph them to list.
