Shop Critque!?

I opened my shop at the end of July, so it's been up and running for about 3 months now. I'm wondering if you might have some suggestions for me. My views average about 90- 175 ish each day. And I have typically been having at least 1 sale every month.

I'm kinda at a standstill right now because I ran out of money to spend on craft supplies and I'm trying to work on my shop and the items I have listed, in hopes that I will be able to sell them and have money to make more items! :)

So if you could take a look at what I do have and tell me how I could improve them or if there is something stopping you from buying from me… that would help me out a lot!

Thank you for taking a look! :)

Re: Shop Critque!?

well it only takes a person 3-4 seconds to decide if they want to buy from you. In this time I saw your header and thought wow really nice and expected to see paper goods....I don't know why but I did. Then I noticed you have some really adorable oranaments...then the face scrubbies and thought what are these are they ornaments too. I became a little confused. I love the items you offer and are very nice. Think about a store and when you walk in you see everything is in its place or section right. Everything flows and makes sense and you want to shop. Make your shop more cohesive Your pictures are great though. I love your header too but it doesn't flow. Keep going you do have talent and love your items. Maybe you can focus on one of these items and create more variety. I do the the scrubbies and what a cute name. I am hitting the three month thing myself but I have to really be honest with myself and figure out what to fix as well.
much sales to you. let me know about the changes you decide to make. I would be glad to review it again.

Re: Shop Critque!?

Hi Mireya!
Thank you for taking time to critique my shop! :)
I do realize that my shop isn't laid out perfect...I am planning on fixing that when I receive the funds needed to do so...I plan on having rows of items...like the row of face srubbies!
I know it doesn't flow that great right now, but I tried to group similar items together at the moment...
My header is the number one thing that people normally love about my shop...they say that it ties my shop together nicely... :)
I like it because it keeps my white background cohesive and adds a touch of color!
I really don't want to sell one item in many ways...I'm a crafter with many abilities and I love to create many things!
I use that as my branding and I think it sets me apart from others...bloggers love it! :)
I get featured a lot because of it!
Thank you again for taking time to critique me! :)

Re: Shop Critque!?

Hi,

If you will use the first paragraph of your shop announcement to list the items in your shop you will place better with search engines like Google and Yahoo. Example: Welcome to Foundation Creations, the place to find hand made facial cloths scrubbies, hand made ornaments, jar organizers, etc.... You get the picture I'm sure.

Your titles are great, but on the scrubbie titles that only say "set" I would make it like the others that actually say "set of 4". I think you would also get a lot more hits on the scrubbies if you used a close up pic as the first pic, and without it hanging. If you can't lay it down and take a close up, maybe even all four stacked, so in the pic you can see it's 4, then try hanging from the same place with a clear fishing line so the only thing in pic is the scrubbie. or hang all 4 overlapping each other so you can get a closer pic.

I understand the whole layout thing. You need more items listed to better break it down, but need those sales to post more items.

I love your shop and your items, and think you will do great. Where all do you advertise or list your items? Facebook, Twitter, Wanelo, Pinterest, Kaboodle? I have only been here a few months myself, and almost all of my items are vintage, so I am by no means an expert. But I do average between 175-250 views a day without doing any advertising inside Etsy like to teams. About 100 of my views every day come from Etsy, but all the others come from outside sources.

Re: Shop Critque!?

I'm a very new seller and need shop critique myself, but I really liked your shop and wanted to drop my two cents. I think it looks delightfully professional, from the banner to the pictures. The only thing is that the shop title explains you sell handmade creations, and it makes one immediately wonder what it is that you sell. That is because majority of shops focus on a certain product type. Shop sections look good and answer that question the title evokes, however, though I like the versatility, it might be a good idea to maybe set up different shops for different product types in the future, when you list more items. Maybe set apart crochet from pottery and ornaments?

Just my two cents! I think the shop looks fantastic, though. Good luck!

Re: Shop Critque!?

Micaela I am sorry that I upset you...because clearly this is what happened. I do love some of your products and was just suggesting some ways to help out. When sales are not coming you have to wonder why and be honest with yourself. I am glad that people have given you positive feedback I do love your banner as well. I can see that you are a crafter of many things and that is wonderful to showcase but sometimes its simple to start with one item and that is all I was trying to to is help. God bless you and I hope you lots more input to lead you in the right direction.

Re: Shop Critque!?

I have on suggestion and it's something I'm working on in my shop as well. There are a couple of pictures - your white scrubby and the jars - that aren't sharp enough. If the white scrubbie wasn't in a row of other scrubbies, I don't think I'd know at first look what it is.

I love your header and your items are great. You do need more listings, but that will come with time. All in all, nice shop.

Re: Shop Critque!?

I'm fairly new to Etsy and have had a few sales, but not many. I am currently working on replacing photos and using the 5 photo slots Etsy gives us, so I'm aware that that is an issue. But I wondered if you would give me a critique, too. Thanks.

Re: Shop Critque!?

Your shop is very attractive! The only thing I would do is add some bars of foamy soap to the shots with the 'scrubbies' . Those kind of pictures put me in a buying mood. (At first glance I thought they were doilies!)
