Shop Critique??

I'm still pretty new and I know these are the slow summer months, but am wondering if maybe I'm doing something wrong... pictures? tags? descriptions? I've had a good amount of sales, but most of them generated through family and friends. (which is great) but I would like to get out there a bit more to the unknowns. I've heard having over 100 listings helps, and I'm working towards that... slowly. :)

But if anyone has any advice on things I could do to fix things, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Re: Shop Critique??

Your shop is lovely. You've done a great job of editing your photos so they're nice and bright!

One thing I'd say is that your shop announcement should NOT be a list of keywords. This is actually the best way to get yourself to the bottom of Google search results.

Re: Shop Critique??

I found a thread through etsy saying that that was the best way to land in google searches... can't recall where I found it, but I don't seem to be getting any wanderers. :) I'll take that off, was worth a shot. Thanks for letting me know.

Re: Shop Critique??

Glass Poppies: Beautiful jewelry. Nice photos too! You are using the first three or so words of the description wisely - including the name of the item ie, earrings.

I notice you're not using all of your tags on all of your items.

I also read that the first few words on the shop announcement are important so use them to show what your shop carries. I would eliminate the welcome which you could add further down but make handmade jewelry the beginning of the announcement.

Re: Shop Critique??

Thanks Valery, I completely agree... though I have a few pictures of it on myself and a few with pieces on a necklace display and some without it on any. Just wasn't sure if it looked better on a mannequin as opposed to a person. Thanks for the advice, I will start working on that. :)

Angel9, I do run out of tagging ideas towards the end on some of the items, I've been looking for tagging articles for help, but haven't found any that are helpful enough.

As for the shop announcement I did see an article at some point talking about the first sentence of your shop is what links to google searches, but I just deleted all the "tags" I had listed above my announcement, wasn't making a difference traffic/view wise. I used google keywords for ideas.

thanks for taking the time to look at my shop and be so helpful. :)
