Set a Goal for July

Hi there,

Setting a goal (no matter how small) can help you accomplish more. Last month we invited sellers to set a goal and share it with the team. Take a look at last month's thread ( https://www.etsy.com/teams/5002/etsy-success/discuss/14658006) where you'll see many sellers reporting they reached their goals or made some progress they felt good about.

Take a moment to settle on your goal and then share it here. By writing it down and sharing with others, you'll reinforce your commitment to it.

A goal can be anything from listing a new item to reaching your 100th sale.

When sharing your goal for July, please introduce yourself and share how long you've been selling on Etsy.

I'll start. I have been working at Etsy for 3 years, and I've been on the Seller Education team for the last year. I just moved so my goal for July is to set up a studio space in the new place. What about you?

My goal for July was to reach 350 sales. Today I made it!

I've had my Etsy store open officially since July last year.

I met my July 2014 goal last week - I increased my prices fairly significantly to test viability of the market and whether it would handle the increase while telling myself that if I don't receive any sales by the end of the month I would re-evaluate the pricing.

I've since had 3 sales since the increase :D

My new goal would be to reach 100 listings (10 listings in 3 days - should be interesting :D)

I was afraid to post my goal, cuz I didn't know if it was possible - but I did it!
I doubled my sales this month from June - from 1 to 2! It's not much, but it's a start! :)

I LOVED reading all the comments here! I went to some of the shops and fav. items...... I have been on ETSY since 2009, and have had 79 sales so far.
I keep adding to my ever growing list of items for sale just because I love creating so much.
I would like to get past the number "79" ---- it seems as though I have been stuck there for a while now. I try to pay attention to my shop as much as I can, but I do have a full time JOB! :0

Please do not promote your sales, listings, coupon codes, contests, facebook fan pages, treasuries, pinterest boards etc in the Etsy Success Team.This team tries to keep it's discussions around small business advice and tips rather than self promotion.
There are other teams on Etsy who's goal is networking and promotion. Try searching Etsy.com/Teams for promotional teams to find one that suits your needs.

I love this thread!
My goal for next month would be to reach +35 sales. I had 29 sales this month and I would smile with glee all day if I made 30 sale by the last day of this month *fingers crossed*

Goals for July have already been surpassed (Yay!) but if I could get one final sale in before August that would be a blessing. Goal for next month is to get 125 listings into my shop which is ambitious with a toddler.

Also hoping to set up a second shop before the holidays really hit but that's a big maybe.

My goal was to improve my tags and photography, and to make my first sale. I will never stop trying to improve my tags, titles, shop info, about me, pictures, etc. But I did make my first sale to a new customer!

For August, I hope to get my shop up to 60 items!

Hello, we have been actively selling for 3 months now on Etsy and so far we have hit our goal every month {YAY}!! We have recently surpassed our July goal of 35 orders! I'm hoping to raise my goal to 45 orders for the month of August.

My over all goal for this year is to exclusively sell on Etsy. We get a lot of orders on our facebook page and I would love for all our customers to be able to order through our Etsy shop. Loving Etsy so far!!! :)

Hello, I'm Elizabeth & I've been on Etsy for a couple of months now, but I've only recently started to list my items. Well July is almost over now, but I am hoping to make my first sale in the first week or so of August!

Final update on July goals:

1. Finish replacing the last of my original images with better versions. (I did not complete this, but it really does not have to be done now, anyway. I'll work on them when I have a chance unless someone places an order.)
2. Add 11 new listings, for a total of 115. (Beat my goal by two. I'm at 117 as of today.)
3. Increase my followers: Met two out of three.
- 80 on Etsy (Woa...247!)
- 45 at www.NancyGoldsteinPhoto.com (Beat it by two; now at 47.)
- 15 at TheiPhoneographyBlog.wordpress.com (Started with nine; currently stuck at 13… Progress is being made!)
4. Get out there and create some new work! (Did it! I just haven't started working on them yet.)
5. Promote, promote, promote!
6. My second sale. Please? (Yes! Plus I refused a digital download; if I hadn't I would be up to three.)
7. Stay positive! I may not be supporting myself with my shop yet, but it WILL happen!

I didn't accomplish everything I set out to do, but I made real progress. I also got accepted to Etsy Wholesale, so that's even more work to do. Oh well, it keeps me off the streets...

Back in Early July, I posted I wanted to reach 450 sales and move into August with a good bulk of ready to go Christmas items.

I reached 478 sales for July, which was terrific. Yet, I didn't meet the goal of Christmas items.

My goal as more than achieved this month! I wanted to get 8 sales (one more than last month) and I got 28 sales!! Yey! I've been making stamps non stop this month, it was awesome! Plus I got sales in my linocut shop too, which made me very happy! Viva July! Now I am hoping for an exciting August too with a new goal of increasing listings adding a halloween collection and back to school too. Thank you all for your support.

I wanted to build my Etsy shop, which I did. However I'm not happy with the listings.

Unfortunately the photos that I use on another site don't translate well to Etsy. My photos are square (or close to) but don't show up properly (full length) in my storefront. My goal for August is to fix this but I'm not sure where or how to start.

Two out of three ain't bad...
1. Fix my sewing machine. (Well, mine is dead, but my mom's is in the shop getting looked over. It may not be fixable either, but at least I tried.)
2. Start research on a website. (Now that Wix added an Etsy app, I decided to go with them and have started working on it.)
3. Have 60 items in my shop. I'm at 54, so this one did not happen. No excuse.

HI! I'm new to the Etsy Success Team. After many years of coming up with reasons why I wasn't ready to open an Etsy shop, I finally took the plunge. I graduated last month with an art degree and figured it's now or never. I opened my shop on July 22nd and made my first sale of two paintings on the 24th. I am happy to have found the Etsy Success team and I am looking forward to learning from everyone ways that I can improve my shop!
