Send Messages on Pinterest?

Hi all,
I can't remember where on esty that I read or saw this, but I thought I read/saw something about being able to send messages on pinterest. It was mentioned relating to using pinterest for promotion and the idea was that you could find someone with a board that one of your items would fit well with and you could suggest your item to them. However, I'm looking at pinterest now and don't see how you could do that. Does anyone know?

I wouldn't use that approach, as people might view it as spam. :( Sorry to be a negative nelly!

The less spamy (but less direct) approach would be to 'like' or re-pin their pins, and hope that leads them back to your boards where they'll find your lovely stuff :)

I don't know of a way to message people on Pinterest, but that approach would definitely come across as spam.

You could join the Pinterest team here. The sellers there are constantly pinning each other's stuff.

Whenever I pin an item I can leave a note. Each day or two I try to go to other's people's shops and pin a few of their items. On my pinboard i also have a board called Just My Etsy Stuff. I, shamefully speaking, sometimes promote my own shop items there. I have seen my own items pinned with comments added.
