Renewing and Relising won't work... if your target market isn't on Etsy.
Yes, renewing keeps us high in the searches but if you have no one coming in to search you, it's money down the drain. So, what can you do to become a super selling machine???
Few things you can do if your target market is not around Etsy.
1) Find blogs and websites to feature you - long time links are great because they keep bringing traffic in.
2) Go to the places where your target market is around ( example: mine are in college etc.) and drop off flyers or cards and promo info.
3) Use sites like Indie Style Media.com or Project Wonderful and custom how you ad runs so you can hit the sites where your potential customers can be. Or contact blogs or sites to run your ads. Remember always to check their traffic, some can be very inexpensive. I run ads on my fashion blog and it's both high traffic and very affordable. (only like 10 bucks a month). So places like this are a good choice, oh! and make sure they hit your target market directly. Why advertise in a mechanic blog if you sell vintage, right?
4) Use the social networking system that works for you. (Sometimes to do all sites at once is overwhelming and you end up doing nothing at all) So just promote and announce sales at your twitter or your FB fan page.
5) If your creations are wearable, wear them! Some selfish self promotion don't come wrong, and hey, it's free, You are your products best model!
Hope these tips help out in this hyper sloooooooooow time. I know I'm going to get some flyers done to drop at school. Lol.
