Search terms: Tags & titles - do they both count?

Hi there,

I'm just wondering if anyone could clarify the following?

When listing an item, do the words used in the item title act in the same way tags when producing search results - is it a waste of a tag to use a word/term that's already used in your item title?

Any advice appreciated, thanks!

...it actually helps search results if words/phrases in the tags match those in the title.

You should include all title words as tags and also the first line of your description should be your title. This increases your relevancy. Thank God for my techy fiancé!

My understanding is that the title and first few words of product description help the google relevency and the tags help within Etsy search....not google search.
