Sale ~ Address given in different language?

I just got an order to Japan, which I'm excited about but for whatever reason the address is in Japanese! Anyone ever had this before? Is this normal? Spam? Not a "real" order? Or totally fine? I'd think on an English (US) website/shop you wouldn't get an order in a different language?

Someone suggested sending a convo asking to translate to English. I guess there's a certain way to group the characters and someone mentioned how to do it.

I had several orders from Japan and also Russia before. The address is always not in English. All I did was :

Print out the address in their languages : Japanese / or in Russian
and at the end of the address:

I wrote : JAPAN ( in English ) or RUSSIA
that's actually for the people who work in my local post office

And I never have a problem with my customers in Japan or in Russia.
They usually arrive within 10 days (from Hong Kong )

I have had a couple of these. Just use etsy shipping to print the shipping label and you shouldn't have any trouble. I asked my post master, who said that it just gets shipped to their country and then they take care of it from there.

I agree! I would just print off the address and write the country name in English. Once the package makes it to the country, they will be able to read the address which is what matters most.

I've got an order from Israel once, and because I have not the possibility to use PayPal or Etsy printing labels service I just print the address using my printer as it was; I asked at my Post Office and they said is fine for them as time the country's name is written in English (I use Royal Mail); once in Israel they will send it to the right address.

I got order from japan once, just contact with the buyer copy-paste the adress on paypal and ask her-him that you are going to print out this adress , is that correct?? Sometimes etsy adress and paypal adress might be different...in any case of no answer use the paypal adress.

in my experience, the shipping took just 5-6 days from Turkey to japan. Actually I think japan post is working great. Just don't try to write it by hand :)
