Reducing renewing?

How often do people renew listings? How do you push listings that are about to expire?

I only renew when items are about to expire, so once every three months.

I only renew like Kat above when my items are about to expire, that's the push! I've seen on threads that others renew more often before expiration to push, but I don't know if that effects sales.

I renew my most popular items every few days. I definitely see an increase in views/sales when I spend the time and money renewing.

On the days when I am really busy in the studio and don't have time to renew or post new items, I see a drop in views.

@ Allison, so help me understand this so I know what I'm doing. Our shops are very different - I looked at your shop (very cool by the way) and can see why you would perhaps renew popular items, but at $.20 every few days?
Is that what you're saying? And, it increases your sales?
In my case - vintage - it is all OOAK, so it does not make sense to me to renew.

I don't renew as much as I used too, mainly when they expire. But I will post links on my twitter page every so often and that bumps up views if you don't have cost to renew all the time. Sometimes if you change your titles words and then renew sometimes I see a difference in views because people are maybe looking for that title search more. And then some people found me through Google, not dirrectly though Etsy anyway. So many factors involved. :)

I renew when I am about to expire, or have already. I do get more views for the most part when I do. But, I also get more views when I redo listing without actually renewing, so....

I renew every 2 out of 3 days. But only items that are about to expire. I have them all staggered like that...

So renewing an item that isn't even expiring boosts views of the item? Is it really worth another twenty cents?

I only renew when an item is about to expire. Then I look at it pretty hard and decide if I want to take it out of stock for a while.
