Re-evaluating my shop, could use some help!

So, you guys here in this lovely team critiqued my shop months and months ago. I made tons of changes, and my shop went from getting 0-2 sales a month to now getting about 6-9 a month. Which is great! This has been consistently like this since the end of May. Since then, though things have been consistent, our shop doesn't seem to be growing anymore, but rather just stuck where it is. I promote on twitter, facebook, wanelo, pinterest and tumblr. I've been getting an average of 100-200 views a day.

How do I move on beyond this? Any shop critiques would be great! As well as any advise anyone has on how to keep your shop growing.

Thanks guys!
Cassi

What were the changes that you implemented that increased your sales?

That is a huge improvement already! I would be curious what changes you made as well.

Your shop is well put together. It looks like your tags are working well in your listing titles. The only thing that might help is to include more than one photo of your paintings. For many people it is difficult to buy art online, so the more photos that can show our work, the better. Include close up images, including brush strokes, etc.

I hope this helps. Not sure what else to suggest?!

Me too, as a new seller I wonder what changes you have made for your shop.

Re: Re-evaluating my shop, could use some help!

I am certainly not complaining about the sales I am getting, but Casey and I are trying to make this more of a main source of income, and right now, well... its not.

The changes that I made that got us to this point? First I added tons of new listings. Luckily, over the last couple of years, Casey and I had created a rather large collection of paintings, so I was able to post a new listing a day.

I find that the days I list, I generally get more views then normal and sometimes sales. I tried to space them out so that I was always bringing people in each day to see the new item, instead of listing all new things in one day.

I also worked on SEO, trying to pick up tips throughout the forums so that my items would come up in searches. The last two months especially, I have seen a huge increase in google views. (not a ton but from say 2 google views a day to now about 16 on average).

I was also not promoting outside of etsy before hand. Etsy is still my largest source of views, but I get a decent amount of views from other sources as well.

Its nice to see these changes pay off, but the results seem to have leveled off. So I am left to wonder...what else can I do, just keep doing what I have been doing, and hope that it will continue to grow? Or is there more I can be doing?

Thanks Kathleen, I should try to add more photos for the paintings. It just adds so much work when doing that for a watercolor painting, you have to matte it and frame it to show it in a different way. Only to unmatte/unframe it to store it away somewhere! Maybe that is just me being lazy....

I think adding photos of your paintings in a frame and either hung on a wall or sitting on a shelf would help. I just watched one of the online labs about product photography and this was one of their biggest suggestions. They said it helps visitors to imagine your product in their home.
