Quick Survey: Holiday or Christmas Markets in the U.S.

The Seller Development team here at Etsy HQ is doing some research to determine what U.S. holiday markets Etsy Team members participate in. We know that many Teams organize their own pop-up shops or craft fairs during this time, but what non-Team selling events, if any, do you participate in during the holidays?

I do the Christmas Farmers Market for my county each year. I also have booths in two country stores in my area.

I participate in Tacoma Is For Lovers, an annual holiday pop up that supports local Tacoma artists, and Urban Shopping & Cocktails, an event put on twice a year by a local small biz owner.

hi Tess, thanks for asking. before moving to florida i used to participate in a thanksgiving weekend antiques show in maryland, and in december downtown small business association promotional activities.

since moving last year i have been selling exclusively on etsy (and thrilled with that, thank you very much). i may possibly do a december or january antique show in west palm beach but neither are really holiday markets per se, it's a monthly event and those are the months i'm considering participating which has more to do with an increased show attendance in those two months. - marilyn

I did a Christmas show at the Morgan Hill House, which their historical society hosts every year. I also did a school show in Saratoga, CA. Neither were anywhere as successful as my Etsy shop, so for all the work and cost I decided not to do any shows this year.
A close friend, etsy.com/shop/glassbyhelen does many shows throughout the year, and they are mostly local markets. She does very well at some school events here in the Bay Area.

Well I'm brand new only 2 sales but I was thinking about 1 or 2 craft shows. Nothing big or juried like Sugarloaf Mountain just maybe a couple of church craft fairs.

My husband and I set up at 8 small to medium size inside Spring Shows in the Chicago area. We had planned on an exciting Fall and Holiday Season doing about 10 shows, but due to his health issues we may make just a few. We used our Etsy sell on our iPhone to make credit card sales and it works great. We are older and like a one or two day show, inside and close to where we live in the suburbs. Good news is there are a ton of shows to choose from in big cities. Some really really slow, and some have been very good to do. We are new, so learning as we go is our plan, but welcome any info out there to help us.

Hi! This year I will be participating at two New England Open Market events in the Boston area. Firstly, the SOWA Holiday Market in Boston on December 12 and 13 then the Salem Holiday Market on December 19. I am hoping to vend at the Wintergreen Market in Somerville, MA on November 28, and I will be vending at our local farmer's market in Newburyport, MA through November.

I'm doing 4 holiday shows: two are for non-profits where a percentage of profits go to local charities. And two are holiday marketplace type shows.

I do fall and Christmas shows. My biggest being first weekend in December a two day show. We have a lots of great shows here in North Carolina.

Not sure I'll do them this year because so many of my items are personalized now but I have done in past years all the School Christmas Craft/Vendor shows and local Church craft fairs.

I sell at a local art museum/gallery space during a 2 wk holday show and sale.

I have 5 local shows in Cincinnati lined up between now and the holidays. Some are big like the Longstone Street Festival in Milford, OH and some are small church events. I love getting my jewellery in front of people as much as I love selling on Etsy!

I am pulling out of events in November and December this year. I had a very hard time keeping up with online sales when I was at events last holiday season. I would love to participate in an Etsy Team pop-up shop though at any time of year! Not sure how to find one that is forming close enough to me???? Tess do you have a suggestion?

Not participated in any fairs yet. Exploring for now, looking for cost effective opportunities. I am new and no sales yet on Etsy.
