Re: Promoting on ETSY

Hi!

Getting your first sale might take a bit to come.

I never had any luck with Etsy promotions. In fact, I never had any luck with paid promotions. They might have equaled some extra views, but no sales as of yet.

If you do want people to see you, try marketing off of Etsy. Look into social media and post there regularly. Find bloggers with an audience to write about you. Let everyone you know know that your on here. Word of mouth can spread.

Also, be unique. Unfortunately, polymer clay and mini food items are becoming the new "thing" with a lot of sellers. So if you can make items that can make you stand out from there sellers, that would bee good.

And read up on SEO. That will help you be found.

Re: Promoting on ETSY

thank you Nikki! I've been promoting myself on social media, but unfortunately I only get likes, I will try to ask a popular blogger to write about me since they have thousand followers.

You are right about mini food, but there are stores that have sales almost everyday, maybe I have to start doing other things with polymer clay.

Thank you!

Re: Promoting on ETSY

I ran a small-scale promotion for a couple weeks on here just to learn about it without spending too much. It garnered about 15 views and that was it, but I did learn which products people liked enough to click on and which ones they did not.

If I were you I would not waste the money.

On a related note, do promotion teams work?

Re: Promoting on ETSY

Oh those promo teams.

I was on them for a long long while (too long to be honest). They didn't help me one bit! In fact, I did better once I got off of them and started working hardcore on my SEO and marketing. Oh and find your target market. Its all about those three, than you'll see better results.

Those promo teams are just a waste of time.

Re: Promoting on ETSY

Promotion TEAMS do bring in more views and faves, not so sure about sales. For my shop, most sales seem to come from buyers who actually search for something I happen to have. So, keywords and titles are really very important, also descriptions.

Re: Promoting on ETSY

Your shop is very pretty, but I think you need a bit more patience. The first sale can take a bit of time.
Don't lower your prices, it's not good for your business. (Coupons have never worked for me either-people hardly use them).
I think you should keep checking and matching tags and titles and lots of SEO information. Jewelry is the most competitive category on Etsy so just keep working and adding more of your cute items.

But don´t forget to read lots of information about SEO. This team is pretty good with that: https://www.etsy.com/teams/10713/etsy-relevancy-seo-and-stats

Re: Promoting on ETSY

I agree with a lot of the other comments. Your shop is cute... really cute! Work hard on SEO like it's your homework. Think of a little more generic and more commonly searched terms for your listing titles so that you will get found. Good luck with your shop!

Re: Promoting on ETSY

I am new so I do lots of research. Also, Shop Stats has given me clue about what my potential clients are interests in (or maybe that's just another etsy seller who's doing research? :). Anyway, I analyze the stats and Dashboard's favorite and try to figure out what buyers are looking for.

I was not engaged in the 1st year when I opened the shop, and might had only a couple sales in a year. I started to list "seriously" about half year ago, still not a lot of traffic and sales.... but I don't know why I've gotten quite a few inquiries suddenly during my winter break vacation, and traffic has been increased steadily. I posted some newly designed Valentine items, so i guess that keyword "Valentine" might have helped a bit too!

Re: Promoting on ETSY

Sorry, I din't read you comments until now... thanks for taking your time to give me advice, you are awesome! and I'm glad you think my shop its cute!

It seems SEO it's the most important thing to get more views and luckily have some sales, I really need my business to be successful since I don't have another job, so It's very hard to me when I still don't see any progress, that's why I wanted to know about promotion and imagine to know about some Etsy stores that have a lot of sales everyday, that's the main reason to opened my store here, I want to be like them... I will be so grateful to know their secret, they have to do something special to be very successful.

I think besides selling on Etsy I should promote myself in person, because almost all the time when I show my jewelry to somebody, he/she buy me something, maybe because I still don't have competition like I have on Etsy.

P.S. I hope my English it's good since it's not my mother tongue.

I wish you all the best and hope you become successful in this fascinating e-commerce website called Etsy

Re: Promoting on ETSY

I don't know if you've used the tag "Kawaii" at all but your mini items fit into that phenomena. I would tag "kawaii food" "kawaii keychain" etc. to also bring in those customers. Also "Miniature" should be used also in tags. "mini" might not be a prominent of a tag
