Printing Question

I just bought a Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II printer! I'm super excited about being able to print high quality images - I can even make prints that are up to 13"x19"! The only problem is that my head is now spinning over all of the different options for prints out there. I want to offer high quality prints, but I also want to keep costs down for my customers. For those of you who sell prints, what type of paper do you usually use and where do you buy it? Do you use archival ink?

Re: Printing Question

Thank you so much! Their prices are much better than what I was looking at at some other sites. I might order their sample kit and see what works best for my prints.

Re: Printing Question

i use redriverpaper too - Aurora Art Natural. I love it.

I'd definitely recommend you are using archival inks if you are selling them, as well as the archival paper.

Re: Printing Question

Do you know where I can find archival Canon CLI-8 ink? I've been looking online, but everything seems to be regular ink except for one place that just sells refill ink.

Re: Printing Question

i used canon photo paper if i don't just send things off to a lab. i know a lot of photographers here use professional printers instead of printing it themselves. probably actually saves on costs. ink is expensive. so i'm no help! just chiming in!

Re: Printing Question

Sorry, I can't recommend a company. I did look up your ink though and it's meant to last about 30 years. Archival is about 72 years and hopefully more.

It looks like to get true archival ink, you'll have to go with a third party ink and won't be able to use Canon's. If you do that, I'd be really careful to read on the company's reviews.

The people at redriverpaper seem really knowledgeable and maybe you can contact them to see if they recommend a third-party ink?
