I just found this pricing calculator:

It lets you choose your mark-up, labor cost, and supplies. Then it adds in Etsy fees AND Paypal fees (already calculated!). Then it gives you a price!

Awesome! There used to be a similar one available, but I haven't been able to find it in ages. You have no idea how many post it notes I have math scrawled out on for trying to figure everything out before adding a new type of product to my shop!

What percentage do you all use? 150% seems so high! Even 50% was a little much for me.

I always find labor costs to be a bit of an unknown and a quandary for me. When knitting or crocheting.. I would have to price my items way way to high to include how long it took me to make. Even for my eye pillows, it seems way to high.. and thats at 50% mark up. Would anyone buy an eyepillow for $30? I really don't know. seems a bit much.

There is an amazing talk by Etsy Success called The Art of Pricing for Profit, which talks about PERCEIVED value, or why customers buy from you at the prices you should be charging for profit. It should be required viewing for all Etsy Sellers and has completely changed my way of thinking in a wonderful way :)

Wow according to the calculator my items are VERY under priced. Hmm... what to do... Will have to go check out the video suggested by Jenny.
