What's Everyone doing for Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

What's everyone doing for Black Friday and Cyber Monday as far as taging and promotion? I seem to have missed what tags we are to use if we want to be featured in treasurys and promotions for these two days, does anyone know what they are? I getting excited for the chiristmas rush!

I'm participating in Small Business Saturday. I didn't think to change any tags, so I'd be interested in knowing also. As far as a promotion, I will probably have 10% off all my in stock items. That's really as much as I can afford. I think they're pretty reasonably priced already considering how much work goes into them. I might extend the promo for Monday, but I'm not sure yet. I'm desperately trying to get more FB likes so I can promote more.

It was my understanding that we weren't allowed to use tags that didn't directly describe the item. So I'm not sure how a tag "Cyber Monday" would be okay. Would be interested to know.

The specific tags they are using are Black Friday Etsy and Cyber Monday Etsy.

I thought that last year people used tags like "Cyber Monday Etsy" and "Black Friday Etsy" so people making treasurys that get featured in the newsletters would be able to find items easier, and also for promotion.

Maybe I misunderstood and using these tags isn't a good thing.

What is small business saturday?

I've been debating on offering a discount that weekend or not. I do like the idea of 10% off in stock items. That way I'm not losing too much and not making myself crazy making a ton of items to ship.

I am offering a sale for Black Friday/Cyber Monday and will definitely be utilizing the tags. I am hoping to move quantity, so I will be offering either 15 or 20%, haven't decided yet.

Small Business Saturday is a nationwide attempt to get shoppers to shop small on the Saturday after Black Friday. As far as I know, there is no Etsy tag for it, but there should be!

I have some templates for Small Biz Sat (facebook and twitter posts, etc.) for promoting it if you want I can convo you.

So, it will be a big extravaganza that weekend with all three.

that's good to know about the tags. This is my first year, so I didn't know. There's a FB page for Small business saturday. https://www.facebook.com/SmallBusinessSaturday I signed up and just got approved for a free ad. A lot of Brick and Mortar stores around me participate and I remember it being advertised last year.

I changed all my tags last year to Black Friday Etsy, or whatever Etsy admin suggested in their newsletter and I didn't get a single search view from it. I won't spend time doing that this year, I'll just be adding new items and working on my SEO for the next few weeks.

I'm offering a 10% off coupon code for black friday through cyber monday. It's my only sale of the year. I'm debating having a 15% coupon for my newsletter subscribers to reward them. Will definitely be doing the tags.

Black Friday is the big shopping day right after Thanksgiving. And Cyber Monday is the immediate Monday after the Thanksgiving weekend.

I think a lot of people go out to B&M shops for Black Friday, but still do shop online and Cyber Monday is huge! Then you have Small Biz Sat in between, so I am just doing one big extravaganza for all three days.

I will do the tags and promote on facebook/twitter. It's worth a try. I am going to have specific items just for the sale, not a coupon code. So I won't have to edit all my tags, just create some new listings as drafts and come 12:00AM Etsy time on Friday, I will publish them!

I will be having sales Thursday all the way into Cyber Monday, and am working on heavily promoting my items as well as I'm rolling out some really awesome gift sets and am in product photos right now for some new pillows. I was planning to have a pre Christmas sale - would you (meaning anyone reading this!) recommend Black Fri - Cyber Mon? I'm UK based but guess that doesn't matter? It's my first Christmas selling on Etsy so any advice is welcome.

I was in New York on Black Friday in 2009. Sadly not much time to shop that day tho. First time in the US, loved it.
