Pinterest Pros?

Does anyone feel like they are using Pinterest effectively to drive views and sales in their shop? I've just started using it and would love to see some examples of people who are having success with it. Thanks!

Yes! You can see my profile here:

As you can see I effectively created some really diverse boards that I feel represent my style and taste. It's all about being well rounded and... Well, awesome.
So it's not necessarily for just pinning your own items. As a matter of fact, I think it's not looked upon very highly to do so. You can look up your items that have been pinned, too. I typed my name into search and found tons of my stuff.
I also find wanelo.com to be very successful. I believe it depends on the product and demographic...

Re: Pinterest Pros?

I have many boards on my pinterest site, each representing different interests in my life, including etsy. I have occasionally listed an item on a related board...here is an example where I listed one of my burlap pillows onto my "burlap board" along with lots of other great related items... http://pinterest.com/kijsa/bur-lap-it-up/
I have only made one known direct sale this way (the buyer told me she came over from Pinterest...but I just started listing some on pinerly to actually track them to see if this is effective.

Re: Pinterest Pros?

I also have many different boards on my site representing things I like. I've added several of my etsy items to different boards along with MANY other items I like. You can check out an example of one of my boards (only 1 of my etsy items is on this board):

pinterest.com/brushstrokes/patterns-zentangles-and-doodles/

I had a teammate from another discussion group indicate she has had an item repinned hundreds of times (and it resulted in many many etsy sales)...but this was a Christmas item. While I don't have too many of my own items pinned, one, especially has been repinned numerous times - which drove more traffic to my shop.

I think, overall, pinterest will have a big impact on etsy. That's why it's nice to "pin" your etsy favorites (not just you own) - and hopefully others will do the same.

Re: Pinterest Pros?

I think Pinterest often gives me the idea of if I am on the right track with an item. I have yet to make a sale through pinterest yet, but some of my items have been repinned 5-10 times which tells me that people like the picture/my description. I love that those re-pins can get seen by new people and re-pinned again.

Re: Pinterest Pros?

Thanks so much for providing your pinterest boards. I am relatively new to Pinterest and love what you all have done on this site. Am beginning to understand the marketing value but also it is such a great place for ideas, organizing your favorite things and then sharing them.
