This team is dedicated to sharing business advice in a supportive environment. From the day you first set up your shop to the day you think about quitting your day job, there's so much to learn. Luckily, one of the best things about selling on Etsy is the support and encouragement from other sellers.

Whether you’re brand new to selling on Etsy or you can count the years on both of your hands, you probably have some milestones that you’d like to celebrate with all of us. Post your milestone in this thread. Every month, we'll highlight some of our favorite posts, so join the celebrations!

Please also introduce yourself in your post if you’re new to the Etsy Success Team—describe what you sell and how long your shop has been open.

Here are some examples of milestones (but remember that all personal milestones big or small are worthy of celebrating!):

Hi my name is Rob and im new to Etsy and to the team (thanks for letting me join).

My wife Michelle and i are wildlife/nature photographers although i also like vintage transport such as WWII planes.

Together we are R&M Photography and have been in business 5 years on a self employed basis ( i also have a full time job but one day aspire to doing photography full time).

At present we only have greeting cards in our shop as we slowly build. We intend to add prints, notebooks, keyrings etc but am reading forum threads etc to try and gayge the best way forward.

We're very proud to have made our first sale after a week of opening and are aiming by the end of the first week to have reached 1000 views.

Our big aim will be to have 10 sales by end of month 1.

Very excited to be part of Etsy.

Got 1200 sales today! Yay!!!

I have made a lot of changes in my shop and seems it works.
I think the most important change is that I'm adding the whole title to the beginning of the description and adding same words to tags also.

I've heard it's good for SEO if the most important words are first and repeated in the title, description, and tags. Maybe it's working!

Yep, forget about that 'maybe'. That is the way to go with keywords.
(Some extra tips (don't read as a critique): Tags are only important for Etsy search, not for Google search and other offsite search engines. So don't forget the importance of item titles and item descriptions. But always keep in mind that they should be easy to read for your potential customers. Don't stuff them full of repetitive keywords and keyword phrases. That will annoy most buyers. Especially when it is not clear at first glance what it is you offer for sale.)

Hi all,
After my first sale I was so excited but than after it was no sales for months, but two days ago I had two sales! So hope is back and it's encouraging, I am at my third sale now! :)

Hi, my name is Damaris, and I have few shops on Etsy but this is the one I like the most for I am a creator at heart.
I am celebrating the steps I am taking to trademark my name (a new one not published yet), designing my logo and working in new ideas.
This shop start like any other for nick-nacks and about a year ago I decided to keep it only for bow ties.
And I owe all to God and the bully at work that is trying to make my life an inferno and affecting my health. I decided to use the situation as a stepping stone instead.

I opened my shop on the 2nd of January 2016, I sell Native American Inspired necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. I also sell birthstone necklaces and working hard to build an inventory but I'm limited by time and money. I have already reached my first goal, opening my Etsy shop. my second goal is to grow my inventory, and my third goal is to get that first sale.

I know that I need to work hard, learn as much as I can about selling on Etsy, and get advice from successful Etsy sellers in order to reach my goals. I haven't thought about any goals past my third goal, I'm trying to take one step at a time.
