Please also introduce yourself in your post if you’re new to the Etsy Success Team—describe what you sell and how long your shop has been open.

Here are some examples of milestones (but remember that all personal milestones big or small are worthy of celebrating!):

• You made your 1st sale / 1st international sale / 1st custom order
• You reached (x) # of sales

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Being brand new, I set some goals for my new shop when I opened it on October 20, 2015. Decided to shoot for the stars and hope for the best. Feeling so grateful for good advice and for some success that has come my way. I've worked so hard and its so fun to see some things falling into place. My goals were to have at least 500 views, 10 sales and to give at least three people a deal that would brighten their day by Dec 31st. Happy to say that I still have 10 days left in the month and I've done 14 sales on ETSY, another 11 through facebook and email and I expect to hit the 1000+ views by tomorrow. I was also blessed to be able to give a copy of my "Empty Tomb- He Lives" picture to a friend who lost a family member in a tragic accident and I donated a framed version of this photo to a local religious employer who counsels people through emotional issues and loss/adjustment. This picture will be on the wall to inspire those who might need a reminder that there is light beyond the darkness and emptiness that they might be feeling right now. I'm feeling so grateful to the advice I have received and would love to pass on what seemed to work the best for me.

1) Be sure to use good tags and speak in a personal and connecting way to your customers through your write ups and photos. Remember, if they don't see how this will improve or benefit their life somehow they will click on to the next page.

2) Be involved in teams and promote your product as well as promote those products of others that you truly like. Sorry I don't promote just to promote but I spent a lot of time going through various pages and products that really stood out to me clicking to favorite those that I really liked. I also emailed some shop owners about what products really stood out to me or caught my interest and was able to share some very positive discussions with other owners which was fun.

3) Too often we focus on simply showing a product for sale and forget about the psychology behind the sale. People want to get value and they also want something valuable. This is a tricky blend at times because we of course want to make a mint and people want to spend a penny. I talked with a lot of people about what they would realistically spend for my product, how they would use it, what they liked or didn't like about it, ideas on how the product could be used and then incorporated that into my approach with customers. While my pride wanted to be able to figure all of that out on my own, it was so helpful to get some straight and honest answers from people around me who gave me practical and useful advice.

4) I believe in good karma and the golden rule. When I give people more than they expect, they talk about it with their friends and family and people take an interest in what you are doing and want to share in the experience. Sales!!!

Just a few observations from a new shop owner and a grateful fellow trying to stay warm in the snowy storms outside my window. Merry Christmas everyone.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

This is the Start of something New.
When i started this Business in May i didn't think i would have this much success, i doubted myself before even starting the race. But with what I have learned and evaluated from this experience is that you get out what you put in.
This is how i want to change the world, Bringing something as simple as clothing to such an art and craft that history itself starts to emit. This is what i want to do for the rest of my life, My legacy has just begun.
Everything up to this point has been because of you guys, you amazing people that believe the norm is beyond the norm.
Thanks to everyone who even had a second in their day to stop and look in my shop, you don't understand how much that means to me.
I wont stop going , i promise... it gets hard man it really does, but at the end of the day if i can make people smile through fashion , then this is my calling. This is the start of something New.
Thank you too the people who Bought, Thank you too everyone who even came in contact with me, This is being written Because of you Guys.. This is The start of Something New.
I never thought i would look at 300 sales and be more proud of myself, This is that moment..
The Best of Luck to Every Shop, Lets Change the World.

TOO 300 SALES ! 12/23/15

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Hello! I set up my shop - ArtworksByRufino - at the beginning of 2014 but because of my full time job and other life events was not able to give it the time it deserved. I recently retired and moved from the East Coast to Montana, and once I settled in I made it a goal to get busy with my shop.

I have been making jewelry since 1995, and began decorating alphabet letters for children's rooms in 2013. In this shop I have decided to feature both, but will concentrate on sterling silver name bracelets rather than full sets of jewelry in addition to the decoration letters.

I am currently working on adding new listings and updating the photos to make my shop stand out. I know that as I add more listings and show off my items I will begin to have sales. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Some times it feels like the task of making my business a success is a daunting one, but I plan to persevere and take the steps to reach my goal. This is truly an adventure for me.

Please visit my gallery and share your comments.

Thanks.
Maria
