This team is dedicated to sharing business advice in a supportive environment. From the day you first set up your shop to the day you think about quitting your day job, there's so much to learn. Luckily, one of the best things about selling on Etsy is the support and encouragement from other sellers.

Whether you’re brand new to selling on Etsy or you can count the years on both of your hands, you probably have some milestones that you’d like to celebrate with all of us. Post your milestone in this thread. Every month, we'll highlight some of our favorite posts, so join the celebrations!

Please also introduce yourself in your post if you’re new to the Etsy Success Team—describe what you sell and how long your shop has been open.

Here are some examples of milestones (but remember that all personal milestones big or small are worthy of celebrating!):

Hi, I am new to Etsy as a seller, opened my shop 4 days ago.
I sell handwoven, handprinted, fair trade and eco friendly fabrics.
I have over 200 views and 40 favourites so far. Looking forward to my first sales.

On Friday, I am going to celebrate one year Birthday of my Etsy shop! I am very happy I did open my shop in the end. I gained a lot of experiences during this time. Though I do not have that many orders, I am happy for each of them. I look forward to another year!

Hi Vlad. I visited your site and thought it looked wonderful! You have a nice product, that isn't over populated on Etsy. Your pictures and designs are perfect. How is your traffic? I would do a little research on SEO's and try to improve traffic, which with your products should hopefully equal sales.
One thing I've heard and found success with is using 2-3 word tags and descriptions in your product. When you search in Etsy, it autofills common searches. So type in Cutting Board and you get all of the 2 and 3 word tags you should be using. I would start each description with Personalized Cutting Board.... Custom Cutting Board and include as many in the name as you can make follow. Once you start getting a lot of traffic to a product, copy your title and tags, it means you've hit a good SEO, until Etsy changes. Best of luck! Nice product.
Also, you had a great review. Have you used that to market. Take a screen shot and share on Pinterest, Facebook, and other sites. That is something to celebrate!

mixed up two orders this weekend. thankfully the one is willing to print out the new label and send it to the right address. hope the other sends it back... still pretty new at this, feel silly for swapping labels. but grateful that it will all workout good in the end.

I started off five years ago when I was having my first child. I made him a mobile, and listed it. I can't believe when it sold and how excited I was! I have since listed many things I have made my children and other family members and friends.

It is discouraging sometimes when the sales aren't consistent, but I try to remind myself that I should use that time to organize and revamp the shop.

One thing that I love about etsy is that you can do it from anywhere! We are planning a relocation soon, and it will be great to bring my business with me. I love that I can stay home with my children, watch them grow and save money on childcare. If one of them is sick it isn't a convenience.

One thing I take pride in is that I haven't had any negative reviews, and hope that customers will see that, and have confidence in buying.

I read something a successful seller wrote earlier,"you can't control your sales, but you can control the amount of effort you put into your shop." So when sales are down, don't get down, make more and do more! You may invent your next best listing!

I have been making hand stamped/paper craft cards for almost 10 years! I've always wanted to do more with it. It's always made me happy and my family all enjoy getting cards from me but I wanted a way to share my passion and joy that I get from card making with others. So I started my etsy shop, Stamptastic Cards last Friday! January 22. It hasn't gotten a lot of views or favorites but I made my first sale two days after I opened the shop! It's been slow in the couple of days following, but it hasn't even been a week. Etsy has become a little bit of an addiction though, I'm constantly checking on things and trying to make my shop more appealing and accessible. Hopefully I can keep it open for the years to come! :)

I feel like I have two milestones that I want to share. My first milestone was my first sale in December 2015. I remember checking my Sell on Etsy app on my phone and seeing that I had a purchase instead of someone favoriting an item (which is a great thing also!) I think my heart actually stopped for second. Then I thought, oh my goodness, now what do I do???!!!!!! I fumbled through the process of learning how to ship my first order.

My second milestone with my business/shop is on facebook. I recently posted a contest to get people to share/like my page. Word is starting to spread. I think I have more names that I do not know than I do know. People are looking at my page and then linking into my Etsy shop from my page!!!!!

Hi All!

Sort of a personal milestone but i have spent ALL DAY listing items from my craft shows that were not on my etsy page yet! I think im around 2 new pages of listings just today!

If youre anything like me you keep pushing off posting new listings and relying on your old ones. So, YAY for all day motivation and a TON more listing!
