This team is dedicated to sharing business advice in a supportive environment. From the day you first set up your shop to the day you think about quitting your day job, there's so much to learn. Luckily, one of the best things about selling on Etsy is the support and encouragement from other sellers.

Whether you’re brand new to selling on Etsy or you can count the years on both of your hands, you probably have some milestones that you’d like to celebrate with all of us. Post your milestone in this thread. Every month, we'll highlight some of our favorite posts, so join the celebrations!

Please also introduce yourself in your post if you’re new to the Etsy Success Team—describe what you sell and how long your shop has been open.

Here are some examples of milestones (but remember that all personal milestones big or small are worthy of celebrating!):

• You made your 1st sale / 1st international sale / 1st custom order
• You reached (x) # of sales
• You added (x) # of listings in your shop
• You have (x) # of views / favorites / admirers
• You received positive feedback from a buyer
• Your shop was featured in the press or in social media
• You recently opened your shop
• You’re celebrating your Etsyversary

My shop is fairly new. I have accumulated five feedback already. Who would ever think that I would have five Etsy feedback. I am going to try to slowly and steadily add more things to my shop so that people will have an abundance of things to decide to buy from me. Thank you Etsy =)

I had just to share, I made 3 sales this week! I'm hoping to keep up the momentum and keep making awesome printable products. Even though I love writing scripted prints, I think people are really loving my watercolor paintings too. :D

Hello everyone,

It is great to see all your stories. I am happy to see some movement in my shop that was paralyzed for longer time than usually and my first customer photo as addition to feedback. I was very excited when I saw it.
Best to everyone.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I started my Etsy Shop just after the first of the month. I am surprised how well it is going. I was not expecting to get sales the first weeks of being open, but so far this month I have 4. I work hard to post 10 items per day to stock the store so there is more inventory to help me get found, I currently have almost 200 items available for purchase. I previously had been selling on the local facebook sale pages (city or county for sale page) for my area. In order to not loose those contacts I created a coupon for locals to make purchases without having to pay for shipping fees and pick up the item(s) locally. I also advertise my store on these facebook pages once a day to keep the store in the minds of my local patrons. The only problem I have with using facebook to get the word out on my store is I am pretty much a recluse after 15 yrs of caregiving for family I have few friends to spread the word on my new venture, so I went the extra mile to purchase business cards to hand out when I meet new people, in hopes the card will be passed on to someone else they might know. The initial expense of course is creating a slight issue for me, being a caregiver for 15 yrs I have very little cash to pay for the Etsy fees, but I am getting them done and getting things started. I am very excited and hopeful that the shop will take off and I will be my own boss for the rest of my life.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I just had my 5th review and they've all been 5*! I make sure I hand write a little thank you on the invoice and when I post it I say in the shipping email that I hope they love it and if they like it I'd love it if they left me some feedback. I hope that comes off okay! Just reached 20 orders mainly selling cake toppers and binder clips. Been actively selling for the last 3 months. Congratulations to you all for your successes!

Good afternoon, my name is Elena, I am from Ukraine. I opened my shop a few days ago and I do not have any sales, besides I really do not know much English and I communicate through a translator. it was hard to understand what was happening and I'll be very grateful if you give me tips how to increase the number of visits to the store and sales. I sell vintage items made in the USSR. this is a very interesting topic for me and I think for many people. Thank you, I will be glad of any help

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Hi Roxana from ArtBeyondLimit, I've just had a quick look at your lovely shop. The mushrooms are cute! I'm really no expert but I would thoroughly recommend watching this video from the online labs on keywords: http://original.livestream.com/etsy/video?clipId=pla_cebd232b-e53a-49e6-8335-242e3cf63b19&utm_source... I watched it and prompted re-did my tags! Then people should be able to find your items and that should (eventually) lead to more sales :)
Thanks
Cherry

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Hi Everyone,
Our two year anniversay of opening a shop on Etsy will be August 1. We (my husband and I) were real greenhorns. I took several months and did a lot of research. On the recommendation of a friend, I chose Etsy.

Now as a retired couple, we love making the discovery of beautiful glassware or some fun vintage treasures at auctions or local flea markets. It is fun everyday to see what is favored and what has sold. We love reading the review stories why someone bought an item from our shop, especially when there are so many wonderful shops to choose from. The blessings comes when someone writes this in a review:

" Never forget for a single minute how much joy you bring to people who might have lost a tiny treasure and because of you, are able to enjoy it again. "

Last October, I became a team leader. I depend on the Etsy network to help me help others improve their shop's performance. I especially love helping the grandmother who has very little computer skills, and walking her through the steps to her questions so she too can be successful on Etsy.

The milestones are many. There are many people all across the US I call my invisible friends, from fellow teammates,to the repeat customers. Etsy is like a family with their encouragement and support along the way.

Be patient new shop owner, your sales will come. Take the advice of many throughout the Etsy network. Their tried ways really do work. Yes, it is work to open a shop on Etsy, but it is worth it. So have fun, make some invisible friends in this cyberspace medium. Celebrate each and every milestone with a little dance. Become that encourager to others along the way.

God's Blessings to you, Nancy

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I'm not normally one to toot my own horn; I'll usually just pat myself on the back and that's that. But BuzzFeed recently featured one of my wall hooks in their "21 Things Every Travel Addict Needs In Their Apartment" list (along with a whole bunch of other Etsy sellers!). And that feels pretty toot-worthy.
