This team is dedicated to sharing business advice in a supportive environment. From the day you first set up your shop to the day you think about quitting your day job, there's so much to learn. Luckily, one of the best things about selling on Etsy is the support and encouragement from other sellers.

Whether you’re brand new to selling on Etsy or you can count the years on both of your hands, you probably have some milestones that you’d like to celebrate with all of us. Post your milestone in this thread. Every month, we'll highlight some of our favorite posts, so join the celebrations!

Please also introduce yourself in your post if you’re new to the Etsy Success Team—describe what you sell and how long your shop has been open.

Here are some examples of milestones (but remember that all personal milestones big or small are worthy of celebrating!):

• You made your 1st sale / 1st international sale / 1st custom order
• You reached (x) # of sales
• You added (x) # of listings in your shop
• You have (x) # of views / favorites / admirers
• You received positive feedback from a buyer
• Your shop was featured in the press or in social media
• You recently opened your shop
• You’re celebrating your Etsyversary

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I just received my first sale of an item over $50 and it was also my first sale via etsy for a wedding related item - which is what i want my store to focus on from here on out.

I have been making wedding invitations, placecards, menus, and programs, for a few friends & family members over the past 2 years, and have made a decent amount of money by word-of-mouth, but not a ton of business via etsy in the wedding category.

I'm thinking maybe I need to make my store more focused on wedding stuff-only, and maybe open a second score for my art prints (my brother and I both make graphic art and sell it framed or unframed).

If you have any advice please let me know ! I do use facebook, twitter, and insta to promote my business.

What with the holiday and knitwear season on us, I *may* reach $1K in revenue this year. That'll blow every other year away.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I never planned to open a shop, but took a chance since I had a creative side and wanted to use it. I'm still learning and know this is challenging, and although I don't have many sales, I want to continue. Yes, more money out than coming in and not even close to even. How do successful Etsy members do it?

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Hi, I'm Sandra from Italy and I've opened my shop one year ago. Crocheting and knitting are my full time job and I use only sustainable yarn to make my items. My wish for my shop is to increase my sales and to add new items as soon as possible!

I'm celebrating opening my shop!! I know that's not as big of a celebration as some of you all, but I'm so excited about it! I can't wait to see what The Lord is going to do and how my shop will grow. I've already had several likes, I'm just eagerly waiting for that first purchase! Wish me luck y'all! :)

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I am a returning vendor; Silversmith. I was last on Etsy in 2008. Online was pretty painful to maintain back then, not so hard these days. Lots of very interesting changes since then.

I am pretty happy, I got a sale the 2nd Day I started posting. Its been a month now lots of hits, lots of shop views, not so many sales. But with $100.00 Jewelry items I do not expect folks to buy instantly.

And I still have lots of designs yet to post. :)

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I just reached my 61st sale! I opened my shop a few years ago but gave up after about six months. A little over a year ago, my sister encouraged me to try again. This time I'm not giving up. There is nothing more exciting than hearing that cha Ching coming form my purse letting me know that soon someone somewhere in the world that I will most likely never meet will be wearing a piece of jewelry that I designed and crafted. I love Etsy!

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I am excited beyond words. As of November 1st, I am going from full-time to part-time at my job due to the increase in my Etsy and Wholesale businesses. Plus, I received an invitation from a very large Home Decor & Antique store to be their exclusive vendor of hand-painted signs. I'm going to be busy, but I'll be busy doing something I love!!

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Yipeeeeeetsy! I have 100 listings showing in my store as of today. I never thought I would arrive at this point as a new seller starting out in the summer. Goldfinch Treasures currently sells vintage items that belonged to me or a family member, or items I purchased at estate sales, thrift stores, or auctions. I still have a lot to learn. Thank you for your tips.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I opened my shop 1 month ago after planning it for months. I just realized I should stop planning and just do it! Last week I had my first 2 sales! Very excited. I do get some traffic, items and my shop are liked, but apart from that it's quiet.
I'm learning every day, from the different teams, or shops and family and friends telling me what they think. I've been able to add 3 more items to my shop and I'm planning to keep adding items in the rate.

I love what I do and I love sharing it on Etsy.
Hoping on some more sales in the future!

Ha, ha! We sold our "big kahuna"- our most expensive stamp. I was just thinking that day that I didn't know if we'd ever sell it.
