This team is dedicated to sharing business advice in a supportive environment. From the day you first set up your shop to the day you think about quitting your day job, there's so much to learn. Luckily, one of the best things about selling on Etsy is the support and encouragement from other sellers.

Whether you’re brand new to selling on Etsy or you can count the years on both of your hands, you probably have some milestones that you’d like to celebrate with all of us. Post your milestone in this thread. Every month, we'll highlight some of our favorite posts, so join the celebrations!

Please also introduce yourself in your post if you’re new to the Etsy Success Team—describe what you sell and how long your shop has been open.

Here are some examples of milestones (but remember that all personal milestones big or small are worthy of celebrating!):

• You made your 1st sale / 1st international sale / 1st custom order
• You reached (x) # of sales
• You added (x) # of listings in your shop
• You have (x) # of views / favorites / admirers
• You received positive feedback from a buyer
• Your shop was featured in the press or in social media
• You recently opened your shop
• You’re celebrating your Etsyversary

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Hello! I first opened my shop under the name GoldfinchNest and changed the name earlier this year because I couldn't resist the pun and it fitted my shop theme. I am having a great time developing my business and learning so much from Etsy, my little shop and the lovely people who have bought from it. To all those lovely customers I want to say a big thank you! This morning I logged in to find my 500th sale - a great milestone and one I am celebrating with my lovely supportive husband.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

My shop just hit 700 sales!

I changed the focus of my shop from kids' dresses to dragon wings last year. At first I only had the wings, but in November I added the tails too. I also changed my strategy of marketing to children only to marketing to all ages. Last year I had several people convo me, half embarrassed, because they wanted the wings for themselves. I realized I had a whole market I wasn't tapping into!

Last year I had 5 orders in Aug, 14 in Sept, and 46 in Oct (wings only, no tails yet).

This year I had 31 orders in Aug, and so far for Sept I've had 73 orders!!

Most of them are for wing and tail sets, so not only has my # of sales grown, but the revenue has grown as well. Average $ per sale last year during Aug/Sept was $44.40. My average $ per sale for this Aug/Sept has been $66.75.

I've really had to streamline my process, upgrade my tools and work spaces, but it is paying off. I will have to plan better next year and try to premake things over the summer so I can keep up. I had no idea my sales would explode like this!

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

My 10th sale this month just arrived.
This blows away any other month since 2008!

I'm psyched! So many things to improve my shop and production- and I can get them! Tissue for wrapping, logo stickers, dressmaker's form for knitwear photos, yarn... a website?

*sales dust for everyone!*

Hello!
Last spring Back Yard Poultry Magazine was looking through the pages of Etsy and found my items. They contacted me about having an ad in the gift guide section of the magazine. The first of two issues came out today and I am very excited.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I'm celebrating because I've been reworking all my tags since I reopened my shop after an 18-month hiatus, during which I learned SO much more about SEO from my full-time job than I ever learned here on Etsy. And I kept plugging away at it, and my views were gradually rising from zero, LOL, and I told myself it would pay off eventually.

Yesterday I suddenly had views from Facebook, Yahoo and thefind.com, places I've never had views before. And the number shot up WAY past my previous high. And THEN I had got 76 views on one item, all from the Etsy front page, and I sold it. (Of course it was a $7 item, not the $199 Hermes scarf, LOL.)

I think my keyword efforts are paying off and the search engines have noticed me, YAY!

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

My shop is one year old today! I've just had my 70th sale and I must say I'm happy with it :) My goal for the first year was 50 sales, so I've realized it!
I put a lot of work in my etsy shop and of course in my works but I love it and I'm happy that I can stay at home with my family and do what I so much like.
There are huge cost to the owners of small business in Poland and I don't know if I manage to keep my business, but I will try hard one year more. I will then see if it is possible to earn enough...

I got my first sale, and the items were delivered this morning. The customer is really happy with them!! HOORAY!! I've asked him to post pictures of the dogs wearing their cowls and tag me so I can see them. Now to get busy with all the new things I have planned and in various stages of completion.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I am celebrating my 100th sale milestone today! Yay - so excited!
I was completely clueless when I first started three years ago and it took several months to make my first sale. (Also had a high maintenance baby and not much time and energy left.)
I have enjoyed the time here on Etsy and have learned a good deal. I hope it only gets better from here on.

Hello! I'm Carolina Ossa from HelloChiqui, and today marks an exact month since I've opened my etsy shop... I'm so over the moon with the turn out, I've made 20 sales, and have even sold out 2 out of the 3 kits I sell.

So happy and proud of what I've accomplished... And really excited for what's to come!
