This team is dedicated to sharing business advice in a supportive environment. From the day you first set up your shop to the day you think about quitting your day job, there's so much to learn. Luckily, one of the best things about selling on Etsy is the support and encouragement from other sellers.

Whether you’re brand new to selling on Etsy or you can count the years on both of your hands, you probably have some milestones that you’d like to celebrate with all of us. Post your milestone in this thread. Every month, we'll highlight some of our favorite posts, so join the celebrations!

Please also introduce yourself in your post if you’re new to the Etsy Success Team—describe what you sell and how long your shop has been open.

Here are some examples of milestones (but remember that all personal milestones big or small are worthy of celebrating!):

• You made your 1st sale / 1st international sale / 1st custom order
• You reached (x) # of sales
• You added (x) # of listings in your shop
• You have (x) # of views / favorites / admirers
• You received positive feedback from a buyer
• Your shop was featured in the press or in social media
• You recently opened your shop

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I started selling on Etsy in 2011 to raise money for my upcoming wedding. My first shop is Phonechay's Creations.. since then, I have learned so much about running a business. I decided to quit my day job at Chipotle to work on my creative business full time. I started this jewelry shop last week. Made 6 sales in one week, gained 348 new facebook fans, and landed 2 local retails stores to sell my products... But most importantly and exciting news is I made it as a contestant for the FEDEX Small Business Grant Contest. I would love to become one of the top 100 finalist. This is pretty exciting and it is thanks to Etsy and teaching me so much about running a successful creative business.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

YAY! I'm 9 sales away from 100!!! This is great! I'm closing my store indefinitely, so I know it's kinda different from a shop that is taking off, but it's still a fun milestone! When all is said and done, I may open again some day, but in the meantime, I'm happy to reach a great milestone! :) YAY! :)

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I started in 2010 for fun. Every year has been more successful than the previous year. Worked my way from a sale a week to 1-3 sales a week. Last year averaged a sale a day. My aim this year is to average 40+ sales a month, so far this year have surpassed that goal in January.
Loving Etsy, a great retirement business.

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Hello everyone,
I love Etsy but feel like I'm not selling to my full potential:/
I was wondering if someone or a few people take a look at my store and give me some ideas or something I may be doing wrong?
Thanks
Becky

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Woo-hoo! It's been a great week.

Today, my shop was featured in a blog for the 2nd time by one of my Etsy friends:
http://artbyearthmothermosaics.blogspot.com/

And one of my items is in her treasury list:

AND, I just got a request for a wholesale deal through a gift shop. Life is good.

Congrats on everyone's success, too!

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

My shop is 2 today! I've been looking at my progress. I now have 57 sales,383 admirers,19 Feedback. My Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr have done really well. I've written a blog to celebrate.
I still have quite a way to go - my goal is an average of a sale a day (don't think I can make any faster!) - but I've recently had a lot of exposure in my chosen market - global Steampunk. I'm one of the hosts of Steampunk Hands Around the World and that is such an honour and feels like a huge step forward!

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

one of the shops on the "best kids shops of 2012" (TrulySanctuary) was the reason i finally got motivated to pursue making/selling my kids T's. i have admired them with starry eyes for the past year and yesterday they posted on their Facebook page looking for sweater manufacturer recommendations. it was a shot in the dark but i posted to their long thread because i used to work for a sweater manufacturer where i loved the people. Truly Sanctuary ended up contacting my former employer and responded to my post. i felt awe-struck to be on their radar and also proud that i could recommend another great business. Everything comes full circle. though i haven't seen "shop" success from this, it made me feel good which = motivation, and also keeps me inline with my shop's mission to SHARE THE LOVE!

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

I wanted to share my best feedback! This makes it all so worthwhile - I worked really hard on this Valentines Gift Box with regular and customized items... and this is what I received today:

"Well... She LOVED them all soo much she wants me to buy the Capricorn set from you *^_^
She said her hands have never felt softer except for when we were in Hawaii last year!! Soo looks like I'll be buying more probably today or tomorrow. And you my dear lady have made yourself not one, not two but three lifetime customers because my mom even likes them and wants me to order her some for Sagittarius too!
Good thing you sent soo many cards! I have a feeling Im going to need them! *^_^

I wrote back saying my heart was doing flick flacks (too much Olympics...?) Haha! I'm thrilled! Love Etsy! Love my customers! Love what I do!

Re: Official Success Celebration Thread!

Just wanted to share..... first sale on ETSY!!!!
I'm working from my jewelry workshop at home and have plenty of local custom. I made several sales and took an expensive custom order this week from my physical site but nothing was as exciting as my first ETSY sale!
Thank you to my wife and to my friend for pushing me into the online world, taking the photos and setting up the shop!
