Notice A Pattern in Sales?

I've started noticing a pattern in Etsy sales -- I will have 3-4 sales together with in 1-3 days and then nothing at all for a week or two. Anyone else experiencing the same?
Not sure if its just a coincidence but it happened throughout 2015. Im trying to figure out how to keep the consistency of sales up, but kinda lost. Any tips why this might be happening and how to keep up the momentum? Maybe the Etsy algorithm is such that the items tend to come up more in search results if your shop has had a recent sale?

Tip #1 - when sales slow down - step up the social media - I'm using shop updates, and have noticed increased sales on the slower days.

Tip #2 - Find a promotional team that is active and focuses on items similar to yours.

Tip #3 Build your following with your new members. Ask them to follow you on social media, but even better, ask them to follow you on Etsy!
