Re: Newsletter ?

Hi Coco Flower,

You should look into mailchimp (http://mailchimp.com/) and constant contact (http://www.constantcontact.com/index.jsp). Those are the two main electronic newsletter systems that small businesses use to distribute their business news.

Good luck and let us know how your newsletter turns out!

Re: Newsletter ?

Like Sara, I would also recommend MailChimp or Constant Contact. I'll be starting my newsletter soon and am still deciding between the two.

Re: Newsletter ?

MailChimp is fantastic. It is easy to use and they offer lots of cool templates to make it look very professional. I actually just designed up a quick newsletter yesterday using MailChimp. If you'd like to see one in action, you can sign up here: http://eepurl.com/brWrD In the newsletter I've included a 30% off coupon for anything in my etsy shop. :)

Re: Newsletter ?

Chris - According to the Terms of Use: You must not use Conversations to send unsolicited advertising or promotions, requests for donations or "spam."

I couldn't find the link, but i feel as though you aren't supposed to use people's emails without their permission unless it is related to a particular transaction. It could be said that buying from this person means you agree to receive their newsletter, but I don't think that is what this kind of rule intends. I would be extremely put-off by receiving a newsletter for which I didn't explicitly sign up, and wouldn't return to that shop again.

Re: Newsletter ?

Thats what I thought also that you couldn't send anything to someone unless its regarding a current transaction

Re: Newsletter ?

@Sara that's what i thought too
i've added at my message to buyer that if they want to receive specials and offers they can sing up for my newsletter but that's the only thing i've done so far
i wouldn't like to receive mails that i haven't agreed for so i don't do the same^^

Re: Newsletter ?

Mail Chimp is cool. You can even use your blog's RSS feed to automatically make your newsletter.
