Newbie on board...need feedback!

..I joined Etsy last year but due to other artistic obligations I wasn't able to open my shop until last 4/07/2011...I've been re-listing everyday and adding old works and creating new..what concerns me is being the date I joined and when I actually started selling may throw some off. Ive been in a couple treasuries and been favorited several times, joined groups..etc..If there is anything else I want to try it..I love Etsy already and intend to be here as long as it's here....Thanks for any feedback possible...Peace..:)

Welcome back! I'm newer to Etsy myself, but wanted to let you know that I checked out your shop and I think it looks great!
As far as just starting to sell, I personally have seen that many times on Etsy where people have bought things (or even not) and then decided to sell, or are just getting back into it; I personally don't think it will throw people off when they see the date. If you are uncomfortable about it, maybe write a blurb in the Store Annoucement that your back :) I think that's be kinda whimsy and cute to see "I'm baaaack!" under the banner :)

i'm in the same place! i'll keep an eye on the feedback you got. i just started actually selling recently and opened my shop about a year and a half ago.

The same thing happened to me. My shop opened date shows as March 2010 when I listed one item and did not engage in the selling process so the item just sat there. Then Jan 28 2011 I started listing and keeping up with the shop. It took me about two weeks before I actually sold something. You may want to buy something to get at least one positive feedback.

Welcome to Etsy! I have been on Etsy for 3.5 years and still have a day job, but I have learned a lot! It took me a while to find my "groove" but after the first year I evaluated my few sales, realized I had made about 50 bucks, and decided to stick with it. Be patient, treat your shop as a work-in-progress, and everytime you add a new listing, write a new description, try to make it a little bit better than your last one. Best of Luck!
