New to Etsy and to this team!

I, within the last week, have embarked on an adventure in Etsy shop ownership and online sells. I strive to create adorable and stylish, handmade crochet handbags that are meticulously crafted to insure their durability and quality, as well as the occasional afghan or miscellaneous crochet project that has caught my interest. Please feel free to visit my shop, follow me, favorite me and contact me with any questions or suggestions that might help me improve my shop, my items and my Etsy experience in general. As a novice, I appreciate and encourage any and all suggestions and feedback! Thank you so much for the warm welcome into this team and being apart of my fledgling, Etsy Adventure!

Welcome (:
Your items are beautiful.
I think you should read the seller handbook to get you started.

Just from a quick look through your shop, you need to improve your photos.
I'll show you an example of a crochet shop that I admire, so you can see what you are competing with - ViolasBoutique

Best of luck to you.

Re: New to Etsy and to this team!

Welcome to the Etsy Success Team, Chrystopher. You items are awesome - I don't know how to crochet, so I'm in awe particularly of the afghan!

Retake your photos and lighten them up as much as you can - I edit mine right on my computer but there are plenty of free editing programs available.

I've learned about optimizing my shop from the Seller's Handbook. If you read and implement Etsy's suggestions, you'll start to see much more traffic to your shop.

Lastly, try to fill a page with your wonderful creations - at least 24 items.
Best wishes to you!

Welcome Chrys!

I would recommend working on more items, as others have said, and also SEO. Here is one of the guides that I find helpful and fairly easy to understand:

Welcome to Etsy Chrys!

I agree with everyone above, and would add using all 5 picture spots for each of your listings. There's a good article in the Etsy Blog on the types of pictures to include to give potential buyers an idea of size & scale, how they might use the item, etc. It's called "4 Essential Product Shots for Your Etsy Listings" and you can find it here: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/4-essential-product-shots-for-your-etsy/22504064051

I also recommend watching Online Labs. They're a great way to learn a lot and connect with other Etsians too. The next one is coming up August 24 at 11:30 a.m. ET. It's about how to build your brand. Click this link to watch it next Monday: etsy.me/labs824

Wishing you all the best and many happy sales,
Sandi Walker
