What! No rearrange your shop option? Just when I had a system I loved! Now it's all higgledy piggledy again. I also want my banner and my featured items back.
Want my banner back and generally do not fancy the idea of the new look! My shop is small and perhaps arranging it is not a crucial point, yet I enjoyed the opportunity. What would larger shops do to support their coherent look? The important thing is to stay personal which is now hardly possible. Please, Etsy, bring the former outlook back.
I'm usually a fan of larger thumbnails but I am definitely NOT a fan of no banner and then the announcement area isn't in plain view either and that is there I put my turn around time and quick info.
Ok, so I like the cleanness of the new look. I like the larger pics. I like how "Search within this shop" is more prominent. I like how your sales and reviews are prominent, and I like the drop down for shop sections. I just want the rearrange your shop function back!
that´s right, i want the rearrange back too. another bug i noticed is that your sold items section always shows you the latest pic of an item and not what it looked like when it was sold. i don´t like that as well as the fact that you can´t see the banner anymore
I've been waiting with patience and deep breathing for my Banner and the ability to rearrange my Shop to come back, I'm now on the verge of hyperventilating!
I checked one shop from Firefox and I didn't like it. Overall it looks so generic and takes a lot away from handmade. Everything is in your face! The About page has absolutely enormous photos covering my entire screen. Is that necessary? Even your shop's admirers, right at the top are so visible now, which can mean that buyers can get distracted and move on to the next shop. Shop Policies are on top, but the words 'Seller Profile' are right at the bottom! Product photos are huge making them easier target for those who wish to copy.
I wonder if the layout will be different from Chrome and IE if changes go ahead.
I read somewhere else that this kind of format is better for mobile devices and apparently, most views and sales come from there and that is a big factor in the decision to test.
There are ways (at least on other sites that I have seen) to change the mobile website and mobile app without changing the regular web version. I use Chrome so I believe the changes can be seen no matter what browser you are using.
I really dislike that my shop looks so generic. Like ALL of our shops look the same. Where is the uniqueness?? Where is the BRANDING that we have worked (and still continue to work on)?
I don't like the sections being in a drop box. I liked having the sections out in the open to be seen. I feel that it draws the eye to look more.
I didn't rearrange my shop often but I just did last week as I put up new featured items.
This is so frustrating. I hope they don't make it permanent.
You can rearrange now, but you won't be able to once the test is completed - I believe that's the idea. And when you post new items, where will they go? On top...
I just tried the link and it allowed me to rearrange on the old format, but once I saved it went right back to the new layout and none of my changes were saved.
I'm not a fan either. At first when I refreshed my shop and it had the new look, I thought it was an error page! It has the same look as when you click on a sold item and the top of the page has other items from the seller.
I like having a customizable banner. I'm surprised this is the look Etsy is considering, as lately they've been talking about cultivating a more "branded" experience within each shop. Taking away my banner & shop announcement seems like a step in the other direction!
