New on Etsy, would appreciate support

Hi all, I'm fairly new, 157 views as of this morning, but no sales yet. I think the cost of shipping is a big factor but I wonder if others could provide feedback on my cushions and my shop. Thanks Patti

Be patient and keep at it. That is about the best advice I have. There are so many other sellers on here, it is difficult to catch people's attention. You have cute products, and the right buyers will come to you. I just looked at your listings - are you making good use of keywords? I can remember that they are stuffed with organic materials. I suggest using those keywords (if you aren't already), as that is just what some buyers are looking for and something not every seller offers.

Take some time to poke around the site. Check out other people's items, and post some comments. That is an easy way to get views. I've had okay luck promoting my coasters (buying showcases). They get lots of views and some favorites, but haven't led to many sales (maybe one). I've had my best luck selling in the real world, but I'm hopeful people will want more and will refer to my Etsy site from there. Good luck!

Re: New on Etsy, would appreciate support

I love your cusions, they're fantastic! I agree, you need a lot of patience at first. It took me about 6 weeks for my first sale.

Also- I would keep working on your photos, titles, and tags. I didn't realize that they were thick enough for a toddler chair until I clicked on it and looked at all the photos. If there was some way to photograph them at an angle that shows how cute the designs are but still shows the thickness that might help.
Also in your title add more descriptive words. I'll use this one as an example-

If I was looking for an item like this I would search words like "toddler seat" "toddler chair" "play cushion" etc. also I'd put the colors in the title and tags for people that are looking for a certain color to match the nursery. So maybe a title something like "children's cushion, toddler chair, elsa elephant, zoo animal, colorful, brown, blue, green, orange, stripes and dots, play or quiet time" and add those types of descriptive words people will search into your tags too.

Do some research on SEO, with good SEO more people will be able to find you through your titles, tags, and descriptions.

Hope that helps- wishing you much Etsy success!

I agree with everything said so far. It didn't take long for me to make my first sale, but it was quiet for awhile after that. Then, like someone flipped a switch, I started getting all kinds of sales. Just hang in there, keep promoting yourself and it will pick up. I really like your option of just selling the cushion cover instead of the stuffed cushion. Great idea!
