You can easily compress the picture. One of the tools of Microsoft Office is Microsoft Picture Manager. From within your pictures folder, right click the picture and choose "Open with Microsoft Picture Manager" or it might say "Microsoft Office". Once open, choose "Edit Picture" from the top menu. From the side menu choose "Compress Pictures". I would choose "Compress for Documents", because you don't want it too small. Then do a save as and your done. Good luck!!
