Neutral Feedback-Help, please!

I have a small dilema, I wonder if you folks could help me with...
I sold some yarn to a lady, which was a commercial, common product, for very cheap. I got a good deal on it; it was destash-so I sold it to her, for what I paid. She left neutral feedback, and said that she "thought we were both taken".
Not being sure what the problem was, as it didn't seem that it could be a personal issue, I tried to contact her, 3 times...to assure her I wasn't trying to take advantage, I would love to resolve this, didn't want her to be unhappy, etc. She never responded.
Is it worth doing the "kiss and make up"? Or would this cause more problems? If she says, she hates my guts (for as yet, unknown causes), in the kiss and make up, am I stuck with this feedback?
I have seriously considered refunding her money, but I don't know if this would be good, either, and open the door for other issues.
Thanks for your advice!

Wow, so sorry you had this experience. I haven't received a neutral feedback here yet, but have certainly received them on eBay and they're very frustrating when it happens.

Hopefully others will chime in here; I don't know how successful the "Kiss and Makeup" feature is -- it is ridiculously named, that's for sure -- and if your buyer hasn't responded to three messages, it might be best to leave it alone. A neutral isn't as bad as a negative, and you've received plenty of positives since so .... Might be best to let it go.

Good luck, either way.

I think you should just let it be. She didn't give you bad feedback...it is neutral.
Don't do anything...IMHO

Re: Neutral Feedback-Help, please!

That's what I wondered, if it was best left alone. As in, the neutral could turn negative....And, as you say, I have received lots of possitives..I could just hope it averages out! It's tough, when you strive to make customers happy, and...
But I don't know if refunding her money would help.
Thanks, Traveller!

Re: Neutral Feedback-Help, please!

If it were me I would try for the kiss and make up reasoning with her that for the sake or your business's reputation and for your willingness to make the transaction with her as satisfactory as possible that your feedback deserves another chance at her favor. And I would too if it came down to it do a refund if that's what it would take her to change the feedback to a positive. But that's me. Not everyone would be as sensitive about it though. But if nothing works and she still won't budge or respond I would try to move on and make the best of it. I don't think in the end people will judge one neutral harshly.

I got some neutral feedback, and just decided to leave it be, though I did stress alot. I didn't even see the option for 'Kiss and Makeup'.

Re: Neutral Feedback-Help, please!

Oh...there was K&M, on mine.
I just feel that, if I refunded her money, that opens the door, for a lot of other people to want things for free! Plus, it doesn't feel very fair. She hasn't even asked to return, or told me what the issue with the yarn, is! (Yet, she would get to keep the yarn.)
Thank you, everyone, for the advice! I think I will leave it be. That's what most people think I should do, and now, I am starting to get the impression that it could get even worse!

Re: Neutral Feedback-Help, please!

Petalknits let me say two things.

First, I think 143 feedback 100% gives you wiggle room. If it were like 10 or something I would say take the loss and give her the money back for the sake of your buisness.

Second, the beauty about being your own boss is making your own rules. The downside, it's not always fair. You can tell whomever you want to go to hell or prescribe to the idea that you always kiss and make up. As a buisness owner it is up to you to decide on what end of the spectrum you are at. On your end, you have tried to fix it with no results from the buyer. It is difficult to fix something if the other person isn't talking.

From her comment, I don't think the money back will help. She seems to take issue with the quality of the product and it's manufacturer not you. Since you are not the producer then there ain't much you can do.

If you are loosing sleep over this and that 1 negative is haunting your dreams by all means return the money. It is a small price to pay for peace of mind. Never walk away from a transaction with unfinished buisness, you don't want to leave it with a "what if".

I agree, I'd leave it alone. If she hasn't responded to your emails, I don't think she'd respond to K&M. You still have 100% feedback, so it doesn't affect your rating. Most buyers realize there will always be one customer you can't make happy and since she didn't leave negative, most won't give it a second thought.

Re: Neutral Feedback-Help, please!

I'd leave it alone. She's already given you feedback and she can't add more. You reached out to her in a professional way and she chose to ignore it. Some people are just chronic complainers and it sounds like she might be one of them! Think good thoughts and good things will come your way (laws of the universe)....
