Need encouragement and help

I've recently hit crafters' block, feeling a little discouraged by the lack of a first sale, even though I think I work pretty hard on my shop, photos, communication, networking etc. - every day.

Don't mean to ask for a full blown critique, as these can be long and tiring.

But if you could just look at my shop and point out one good thing and one thing that needs improvement, it would help a lot :)

here's something easy to fix - it's hand SEWN not sown.

I know you said just one thing, but I've only ever seen shoe clips online so I'd be interested to know that they wouldn't damage the shoe in any way and can be taken off and then added to a different shoe on another day - maybe worth adding something about that to the description? or is it obvious to your target market?

Don't worry, you've not been open long. Your shop looks beautiful and it won't be long before you have some sales and feedback, that should really get things rolling.

Your photographs are beautiful!

You could improve your tags- think about what people will be searching for, not what describes the elements of your product i.e. use things like 'ivory shoe clips' and 'cream shoe clips' 'lace shoe clips' 'shoe accessories' 'shoe decoration' 'shoe decor' 'bridal shoe clip' and probably not things like 'faux citrine' or 'peach crystal bead' which may describe your item , but are probably not a starting off point for someone looking for shoe clips.

I love the vintage lace flowers!

I would join treasury making teams, add way more people to your circle ( this helps a lot with exposure) and be as active as you can in the teams.

Hi Signe,

I agree with everything Heather, Emily and Katikamade have previously suggested.

I would add the following - try to list something every day. It doesn't always have to be something new - re-listed or sold items show up in the activity feed if you post them in the appropriate thread on your chosen team sites.

One good thing - such pretty and creative items.

The typo shall be fixed immediately, thank you Heather. And very good point about how shoe clips work, I've been thinking about it...

Also, thanks for the tag tips, I've been tweaking and re-tweaking them, but this is some of the best advice yet!

Yay, now I feel motivated to go back and do more work. I'm sure it will pay off at some point.

Man, started editing my descriptions and thought how disappointed my English teacher would be at my mistaken past tense... and mixed it up again :D Now I've corrected a bunch from sewn to sown!

Do you have a proofreader for your descriptions?

Hi there! I took a peek and I like your shoe clips :) Very cute and the pictures aren't bad. A few ideas that you might want to try; zoom in really close to your clips so they pop when customers look at them; try using some sexy strappy shoes, too.

Also, something you might want to try is to make a few clips that are really ellaborate (look up fascinator and see how some people go all out with feathers, matteril roses, lace, etc. for headpieces) and make a few clips that are just over-the-top. Then, try and find a few photographers (or brides getting good photographers!) tht would be willing to take some pictures of a bride wearing these (I'm thinking a picture with her skirts framming the shoes, one with her sitting down kicking her feet up with a huge smile, etc) I think the pictures would be lovely and brides would LOVE them; I know I would; it would be a great way to add something blue or add your bridla colors in a fun, unexpected way! :)
