Need a shop review!!!

I'm so sorry if this is the wrong thread, but could I get a bunch of reviews of my shop? (if this is the wrong place to start a thread, let me know...many thanks!)

I would work on your SEO and titles. Remember when you're doing tags to try and put multi-word phrases that you think individuals would search for when trying to find your item.

Also look here for a lot of good advice:

Does anyone else have other suggestions. SEO only works to drive traffic, but cannot help with content or images.

Re: Need a shop review!!!

I wasn't trying to be critical, it's just often really helpful to imagine yourself as the buyer and think about what you would type in for your type of item(s).

For example with the item below, I personally wouldn't come to etsy and type in 'sore lips' if I were looking for lip balm. Something like 'lip care' might be a more likely search phrase.

Also always use all 13 tags so that you are relevant for as many searches as possible. This item below has no tags used at all:

Re: Need a shop review!!!

The links in your listings to outside websites do not work. It says I don't have permission to view it.
Be careful making sunscreen claims. A celebrity recently got in trouble when people were sunburned using her sunscreen. I am not sure if you'd need to get this product tested in a lab. I know in the UK they have to test their soap and beauty products before selling. I like seeing the list of ingredients so I can tell if I have an allergy.
The pictures look nice. I like the try me pack. You will need a lot more listings to be competitive. It's a good start!

Re: Need a shop review!!!

Here is the sunscreen article I referenced. Maybe call your product an after sun lotion?

Re: Need a shop review!!!

I only started my etsy shop a few days ago but I'm having the same problem. No seles or reviews.
Can you give me some tips for increasing traffic or start selling?

Thank you!

Re: Need a shop review!!!

Lori,

Regarding the terms sun block and sun screen, we have tested the product on surfers and lifeguards, and ourselves. It works when applied as directed. Technically its a sun block, as zinc oxide is the main ingredient for that function.

As far as testing goes, only if the product is labeled as a sun screen and "sun protection" chemicals listed on the FDA's registry are being used does the product need to be tested (in a nutshell, I did a ton of research on that issue and its very complicated).

The only references to sun screen are used for seo, the product is labeled correctly. But I do appreciate your concern. What I am really wanting to know: do the descriptions engage you/the customer when reading about the products?

Re: Need a shop review!!!

Marta,

You seem to have all the elements in place. I think maybe a bit more discussing the products you sell. Outside of that, the pictures seem well done and you have good seo.

I recommend that you get on social media and start spreading the word about the shop. That seemed to work for us, which actually is the reason for my posting. We have decent traffic, just not too many visitors staying long enough to buy.

Re: Need a shop review!!!

Damian, I'm a new seller on etsy so I will give you my opinion from a customer point of view. First glance on the shop's page...you have very few items for o shop opened in January. If you don't have other product's maybe make a few sets with the existing ones. Or different sizes...just post some more... Then the labels seem o bit monotone. If you can add more colors it will make the products more appealing. The shark and the writing can be different colors. Then at the first product the toothpaste, you have only 2 pictures with it. Maybe you can put a toothbrush in the paste and rise it so we can see the consistency of the paste rather then 2 pictures of people... The Deodorant Lotion is a bit confusing. Is it a lotion or a deodorant. Where do I apply it? And how? If it's for the armpits is not convenient to put my hand in it. It will get under my fingernails not something any women wants. At the Lip Balm the last photo shows a balm in a little jar and yours is a stick. Again is confusing it makes me think you offer it also like that. The serum is the best depicted product in my opinion. It has the appropriate packaging, label well done, you show it on skin, lots of information if I I'm not convinced yet... I would buy it. As a last comment maybe you can also put in the description the international measurement system as you ship worldwide. Hope I've helped!
