More interest in Evenings

I seem to get more interest and views in my shop at the evening UK time (its 10.15pm now).

Most of my sales (all 7 of them ;-) ) have come from America (which is fab) do you think Etsy is more used from America and surrounding countries then England? (I'm England Based)

I'm not fussed either way as I love to speak to Creative people from all over the world including England :-) just wondered if I was correct in what I was thinking or not......

Re: More interest in Evenings

Yes, US members are the largest member group on Etsy.
And since the site was founded and resides in Brooklyn, it is more widely known in the US than elsewhere. But that is changing slowly but surely.
On the other hand it had members from lots of countries right from the start.
I'm in Belgium (have been selling on Etsy since 2006) and thus it makes sense that I make the greater part of my sales when I am asleep.

Re: More interest in Evenings

Me too!
I joined Etsy to be able to sell worldwide. And as a bonus I get to know all kinds of wonderful people from all over the planet.
And yes indeed, it is wonderful to wake up to a sale, no matter how many times it has happened before.

Re: More interest in Evenings

I get most of my sales from people in the US and other countries and some from UK. I too get most of my sales in the evenings or when I'm asleep. (I'm from the UK too)

Re: More interest in Evenings

I am from Montreal and i have most views in the evening and a big jump btw 12am-2am in the morning....I think because of California, that's where most of my sales have been coming from, I don't know why, just thankful :)

Re: More interest in Evenings

I was interested in this post because I, too, make most of my sales in the evening/night and many times have woken up to sales.

I'm in California and make most of my sales in the U.S., so I guess the night owls on the East Coast are who I have to thank! :)

Re: More interest in Evenings

Yep, I too sell mostly to the US, so my sales come through the night. I'm in the UK.

Re: More interest in Evenings

I am from South Africa and nearly all sales have come from the US, two from UK and only one from South Africa - no one really buys online here but I love being part of Etsy and the global community.

My views only start picking up after 3:00pm here as America is waking up:)

Re: More interest in Evenings

Wow that is fantastic, what a feeling :-)

I get giddy when I am in bed and my phone beeps red at me to let me know I have a message, so I click that button hoping for that all important sale, lol. I even check when my toddler wakes in early hours of morning just in case.

Most of my sales I had found out about before I went to bed (normally about 12 midnight, lol)

Even though I would love sales I also really enjoy the Etsy Spirit too :-)

Re: More interest in Evenings

Hmm...it's interesting that a lot of the sellers "across the pond" and also on the west coast get sales in the wee hours. Because that's when I - over here in Boston - get the most sales too. Who are these elusive buyers? I think maybe it's an insomnia thing. Many of my impulse buys have been made when I'm really tired.

I'm not saying my products or anyone elses' wouldn't normally be sold, just that people's inhibitions with everything (including money) tend to be less if they are sleepy. :)
