Logo Feedback

I have a logo and I like it about an 8.5 out of 10, but I'm just not sure about it. I feel like it's missing something, OR there's too much going on, OR it's not representing my brand well (maybe not sophisticated enough or something).

I'd appreciate any feedback that anyone has! Thanks!

If I'm going to change it, I'm thinking that I would like it simplified and more sophisticated, maybe with a little blue bird sitting on top of a cage (my last name is German for bird).

Re: Logo Feedback

I like it. If you wanted a small change, I would take out the bunny and move the camera to the bunny's spot. I'm thinking the bunny takes away from the sofisicated look you're looking for.

Re: Logo Feedback

I agree, the bunny is a bit too much. I would leave the camera where it is and just take out the rabbit. That would keep things simple and balanced.

Otherwise, I like it too!

Re: Logo Feedback

Hi Kristen,

I also find the rabbit distracting, but love the camera in the tree.

Here's a thought in regards to changing it to a bird, although this idea is less sophisticated. You could have a bird using a view camera, from a side perspective. Have you used this type of camera? If not, I'm sure you've seen one. It's the old-fashioned type where you have to put a hood over your head. So, in my bird idea, you would see the camera on a tripod with the bird standing behind it with the hood over it's head, but it's tail feathers sticking out.

Not that you asked for other suggestions, but the idea just came to me so I thought I'd share. :)

Re: Logo Feedback

Yup, lose the bunny. The camera hanging in the tree is peculiar to me as well. You have three random objects that are trying hard to play nice together but (for me) it isn't working. The colors and type are terrific. But I would recommend picking just one of the three elements (tree/camera/bunny) and keeping it simple.

Re: Logo Feedback

I feel the tree, bunny and camera just aren't working, it seems a little juvenile and may not be the branding you are looking for.
When I first looked at it I didn't know it was a camera in the tree and I don't think you need the bunny.
Maybe the tree and use the camera on the ground next to the tree or maybe at the end of your name? That might be a little bit more sophisticated.

Re: Logo Feedback

Bunny and the camera should go out. The tree is nice, but why? What does it represent?

Re: Logo Feedback

Agreed, lose the bunny and I think the bird analogy is too complicated, not many with get it. Keep it simple. Just your name and Photography is a fabulous logo. Don't feel you need any more. It's sophisticated and let's you grow in any direction

Re: Logo Feedback

Hello Frau Vogel ;)

Considering that I went through the same logo/image finding process myself last week... I feel your pain. It is so hard to make it just right.
I would definitely replace the bunny for a bird and then I would make the camera stand out a bit more....no...A LOT MORE.

What if the outlines of the tree became the lens of a big camera? Like a camera behind the tree. Cause you got actually two outlines anyways.
And it would give a funny/lovely twist to the camera cause we have seen cameras with round lenses EVERYWHERE.

To me it would also suggest that your camera sees everything. It becomes a part of what you see and HOW you see things.....which is I think (but I'm no photographer) our general perception of photographers.
Does it make sense what I am saying? I could leave you a quick drawing on your facebook if you like. (Someone did that for me last week and it was just too cool....so I thought I offer it in return to the next ;)

Re: Logo Feedback

Thanks for the feedback!
I went ahead and made a new logo, just to see.
I'd really appreciate it if people could compare the two and answer 4 very quick questions in this survey. :) Thanks again!

PS: @Nic I would love it if you sketched something for me! That is such a creative idea!

Re: Logo Feedback

love the logo one in the survey.
however, maybe the bird could be a lighter color.
the black is too dark against that blue, but the blue is perfect.
