Location Problem?

Im starting my Etsy shop 5 years ago, then decided to close my first shop due to my main job. Later this year i decided to open one,
im just curious, does my location is one of the problem of my slow Etsy Progress?

I got my first sale 2 months after i opened my shop, and things are getting pretty slow in my opinion. Btw, I am in Indonesia.

What do you think?

Re: Location Problem?

I wouldn't be discouraged about your location being an obstacle. The item I looked at cost only $5 to ship to the US. Have you fully explored selling in Indonesia and nearby countries? I searched teams for Indonesia and there was one team with over 1000 members! Perhaps you could get some good ideas from local teams. Good luck!

Re: Location Problem?

I think this is will hurt business:

"North America: 3-5 weeks"

The items you are selling will be impulse purchases and gifts. Most people won't wait that long.

Re: Location Problem?

I agree with Richard. That's an awful long time to wait for a small item to arrive.

I clicked on one of your listings and you say: Standard shipping will normally takes around 30-40 working days, however please do expect some delay.

That's even longer...about 2 months? And then expect more delay?

And that's for 1 item only. Maybe you could group a few of them together otherwise the shipping cost is very high for 1 item. Isn't there an option in your country to ship very small items at very low cost?
